I wasn't invited yet but there are a few people on the Firefall forums who are giving away extra keys via contests in the Fan Art section.  I entered one today to get a key.  It's early in the beta as per a few threads but it's looking good so far.

Good to hear.  I've been registered on their forum since 2010 but I suppose being active in their forums likely contributes to who may get in.

I've used all 2 for this month

I've been in the beta for a month or so now, the game looks really good, a few bugs here and there, but all in all an awesome experience, especially if you're playing it with a friend or two.

Yeah I think i registered twice. Still nothing. But the game looks good. I have high hopes and continue to post news and videos of it on the EVGA Gaming site.

It has potential, but they have a lot to work on still. What they have put their attention towards has improved over time, so they aren't putting a blind eye towards issues (so far).
 
It looks like they are going to revisit the class mechanics at some point, so it is likely to have pretty large changes in the next couple months. Comments regarding the game being "too easy" are being thrown around as well which is an indicator that things will most likely change.

I'm liking it so far. Pretty intricate an sophisticated on a laudable sci-fi level. That is as sci-fi pertains to anime, as the game is set in a sprawling high-tech manga-inspired mythos and world. This is a good thing. It's inspired by and not  trying to imitate.
 
There is much to do and seemingly great deal of loot to find and upgrading. Shooting mechanics are solid.

But the animations need work. They are very clunky right now. I hope this is worked.

It uses auto hit proximity based leash style beam mechanics that has some target logic issues and line of sight issues. Personally I'd prefer a point and fire beam or spray with a simple alt fire explosive or wave to do what it is meant to do. You spend more time holding down the sprint button on that job than any other.

So it acts much like the TF2 medi gun does then, but I was talking about how it looks much like the portal gun.

Played a bit more. I REALLY like it. I'm still not a fan of the animation--too stiff--but the gameplay, content theme, graphics, mechanics and open world mechanic on the PVE servers are great fun.

Can't believe this will be free2play.

Game has loads of potential, but don't expect to get hooked on the beta as there's close to nothing to do after the first finishing the initial tutorial. You can harvest resources and play a bit of PVP (I personally don't even see why they have it in this game).

Well you can... and you can't. It really depends on the AI behavior (which has vastly improved lately). It still does stupid things and there are stupid glitches within it like higher level engineers being able to deploy more than 3 items, dropping thumpers below the surface of the ground, on elevated surfaces (yeah they didn't get rid of all of those), hammer AOE, and other factors. At current, the issue of being able to 100% solo thump resides more towards the damage deployed items receive per attack vs damage against players.
 
What i meant by that comment more than anything was that the netcode favors the shooter, the head hitbox is oversized, the projectiles are fast and the characters are big and slow. This makes striking targets "too easy". This goes beyond the "auto hit" and hitscan mechanics within the game for various items/guns. The context being made was more inline with PVP than PVE as AI will always be reasonably stupid.

I too signed up years ago. i think those initial sign ups got purged or something. Everyone I know who signed up at that time as not been invited. Only those who signed up more recently. I can't confirm that completely. But it seems this way so far.
