What is the optimum (NON overclocking) BIOS settings for X79 SLI? Thursday, May 03, 2012 8:27 AM (permalink)
I realize this is probably a loaded question, but since the BIOS has so many variables, and I don't have time to research each input, is there a "playbook" on what settings to use?  Or would the default settings wind up being the optimum setting to be used? OR are there any particualr settings that would take advantage of my memory / cpu better than the default settings?

Thanks,
Terry

Restore Defauts then under SATA Configuration > RAID mode.

That's about as easy, most optimum default, and auto-pilot you get...

If you are running the CPU at stock speeds, all the CPU settings can pretty much be left on auto. You may want to set the memory timings and voltages manually to make sure it is running at the correct values.  Other than that, there isn't much else that needs changed if the plan is to run the system stock.
