Why would they start doing that now? 11+ years /....Business doesn't work that way.All it takes is one mistake in shipping or hold up and boom all dates are screwed.Do you see any dates in advanced for the 680 Classy or FTW?(or for any other GPUS in the past) they even have them in shop for sometime now but a date is not set in stone or published yet.
Business wise your not seeing the implications of making a promise of a retail sales date .I cant make you understand so i dont know what else or how to get this across to you.
I work in retail as well and know how these things work. If it was not for Nvidia stating clearly that partners will have these on sale starting May 3rd I would not be asking as much as I am. While they mentioned approx. 8 parnters or so that will have them, it is up to the individual companies to actually start releasing them on that date. Like I said, Evga could have the cards right now, but perhaps they wont have the box ready on the 3rd, perhaps they are adding a high flow bracket etc.
Again, Nvidia already dropped the launch date and mentioned all the partners that will have them...asking if Evga will have them on the 3rd or not is not breaking any NDA or anything like that since Nvidia already has announced the release date of the card.
I clearly hear what you are saying, but I think you are missing the fact that Nvidia already announced the launch date, so it is not like we are asking for Evga to break NDA by saying launch date is the 3rd since Nvidia has already done this.
All I am saying here is that I want to spend my money with Evga...if they wont have them I will go somewhere else. But it would be pretty crappy to camp out EVGA and then "AFTER" the fact find out that they are not selling their version of the card until a later date...and then blow my chance of getting a card from another vendor because I was waiting here for the cards.
I mean, we have people posting videos of the unboxing of the card already...the date is known, the specs are known, the price is known...is there a harm in Evga saying "yes, we will have some for sale on the official launch date of May 3rd"?
