Evga FTW x79 bios 36 I get random lockups as well. Disabled C-states and what not still getting 2 or 3 a day. I have Corsair Vengeance ram 16gb. I have ran multiple memory test for days in a row =( Still no closer to my Kernel 41 power problem getting solved.... I just swapped in some ram I know works from my X58 rig. If this doesn't fix it tech support here I come... Any other suggestions? Killn

Memory in X58 systems is typically XMP 1.2 where X79 memory is typically XMP 1.3... so it won't work without manually setting the timings, FYI. I've found that when my memory is above 1600... either 1867 or 2133... using XMP1/1867 or manually setting timings at 2133... under heavy load neither are really stable. At 1600 is where I get the most OC headroom. At 1867 my system is stable but under heavier memory load things invariably freeze/lock up. Here I'm referring to 4.5/4.6GHz. 4.6 GHz is never stable at 2133, a little more so at 1867. At 1600 I can take the OC up higher with greater stability. So frustrating right now.
