I'd love to follow your experience with that kit. Please keep us updated. I am looking at getting the next kit up from that, which is the 360 Rad instead of the 240.

Cool, I will post step by step here with pics once it arrives. I wanted to get the 360, but I have a haf 932 advanced and there is not enough room for 3x120 mm rad. So I opted to get the thicker 2x120mm rad and plan to do a push pull on it.

I am one step closer to the idea of getting the RASA RX240 as well ...

confirmed a faulty fan controller on my H80 unit (after following an official firmware reset procedure from Corsair forums from here), but I have now the fans connected straight to PSU and under load temps are better by only 4-5C degrees when compared to fans at the lowest setting ...

it still means 73-74C on hottest core under LinX 0.6.4 when ambient is around 22-23C ... that I can achieve with EVGA SC cooler at much lower price ...

confirmed that water pump is spinning though, it reports it propeller speed via the monitoring connector and while connected via CPU fan header, it reports 2,200rpm. after I unplugged pump power (molex) from PSU the idle temps rose from low 30's into upper 70's even with both fans spinning at full blast (connected straight to PSU).

perhaps it's just a bad unit, maybe there is air trapped in system or maybe it's just poor.

hoping the replacement works better, if not then count me in among XSPC RASA users family.

I am planning my water cooling, and want to know which TIM I should use. I have the following 3 on hand.
      1. AS5
      2. Frostbite
      3. TIM Included with the XSPC Rasa
Since this is my first custom water setup, I want to make sure I stay noob free of any fowl ups. I am thinking the AS5, but not sure if the others might do any better.

Also, how can I set it to get real low temps without lapping the cpu?

Sry I didnt get back sooner, yes, the fans are super loud on full.  Only plugged my fans into the unit itself

I wouldn't call it super loud. I run them plugged in straight to PSU (full speed) as my H80's fan controller is bad ... however I'm disappointed with temps totally ... not much better than EVGA SC cooler ... not at all ... waiting for a replacement H80 coming on Mon/Tue, will give it one more try, if no go, I send it back for a refund ...

XSPC RASA RX240 sounds tempting a lot though

Corsair failed 2 times in a row for me. received the replacement unit today and it has the same faulty fan controller. fans speeds are locked to ( think) medium setting and controller is not responding to any chosen fan speeds (profiles). tried "resetting the firmware" while following all possible procedures described on Corsair forums to no avail. nothing helps, sending this crap back for a full refund.

to make it more funny, I found a solution  to slightly loose backplate while searching Corsair forums. it seems that on newer boards (e.g. Z68) the backplate will be loose because the stand offs bottom out before they make contact with the board surface. solution is to remove the backplate and add an M5 3/16'' washer under each of plastic spacers. problem solved, temps lower by 5-7C under load.

it's all meaningless, since fan controller is bad on 2 units in a row. Sheisse Corsair.

getting an XSPC RASA 750 RX240 kit soon

well, Corsair is becoming a major fail lately. I myself am waiting for my Rasa to come. Also, I talked to EVGA today, and they said it seems like my cpu is bad too. Idle in bios, I am showing temps at 60c. Playing BF3 tonight, temps were near 80..... I am calling NewEgg tomorrow for an RMA. Hopefully, they will Overnight one to me.

I am still contemplating where I want to put the 240 rad though ... If I remove all intakes from my case (3x120mm) then I would be able to fit there a dual 5.25'' res and 240 rad probably and have push-AND-pull fans on the rad serving as intakes too ... or I mount the 240 rad (with pull OR push only setup) on the outside rear of case and keep 3x120mm intakes ...

for a moment I was considering a 360 rad as it would probably fit even inside the case, but then where the hell I put the res ... and what do I need 360 for if I only want to cool my cpu LOL?

I haven't purchased my RX240 kit yet, will probably do so tomorrow, but I browsed a few stores comparing prices and availability ... and man ... most of them are out of stock on RS an RX kits! I think the dawn of Ivy Bridge cpus is forcing lots of folks into water cooling ... kinda crazy ... a few years back water cooling was pretty unique and everybody was using air cooling, nowadays wc becomes slowly a standard in any overclocking ... but that's what smaller and smaller cpu dies bring after all ...

sorry about the cpu. yes it's possible it started running hot. if they advance replace it for you it would be great man, but you need to call them for an advance replacement.

need to get some sleep now.

                  Tomorrow's the day!

I just checked tracking, and my new 2600K and XSPC Water Cooling setup will be here tomorrow. I already received my new HX850, since I just changed it at Compusa, so it's like a real fresh start. I will document every step of the way. It will be a simple loop until I get a gpu block to cool my 580GTX. But for now here is the idea.

                  Plan for the setup.

                  1. Reservoir
                  2. Pump
                  3. Radiator
                  4. CPU
                  5. Back to Reservoir

yup, order is good and diagram is correct

you should get some strong water flow thanks to very short tubing (close distances between components) too!

I hope you won't run into any issues regarding Rasa cpu block backplate on Z68 boards and the CPU socket retention plate with screws. I read on OCN, some people having specific 1155 boards couldn't get it installed, because of it. some of them used Corsair H50 backplate to solve the problem, others used dremel to widen the opening in rasa backplate, other used a different block ...

my XSPC RX240 arrives tomorrow too, but I decided to upgrade the CPU block to Raystorm due to potential risk of fitment issues with my board and better specs.
Mark (CEO of FrozenCPU) is a great guy, he agreed to refund the price of Rasa CPU block if I send it back sealed/unopened. In meantime I ordered Raystorm block. I recommend contacting Customer Service at FrozenCPU or Mark directly if you are planning to do the same.

sorry if I scared you mean, not my intention, just a friendly warning that you *might* have an issue ... or not and maybe everythign will fit perfectly. just saying that some 1155 board owners had trouble with rasa block backplate fitment on z68 boards.

I used to have the H100 as well and tried so hard to make it work properly but I never got the temps that I was looking for. I never wanted to install a custom water loop as it seemed to dangerous and complicated to do. I since bought the RX360 XSPC kit and must say I'm tvery happy at the moment. It cools my 2600K phenomally well and I have added my SLI 680's to the loop too. Temperates are GREAT with no noise. These kits are wonderful and if you ever need some advice on them don't hesitate to ask.

Yup, got it and installed. I am going to post pics in a minute. Backplate is fine, and the only problem I had with install was getting the screws into backplate. I didnt realize that they were adjustable screws. Realized and fixed. I also got my 2600K from Newegg RMA. Now, I am running happy temps of 32c idle.....

Here the experience that I had with my first custom loop.
                                The Components:

So I put the loop together in the case first. This way I was able to measure the right amount of hose to cut. A lesson I learned here is just make markings on the hose, and do not attach the hoses yet.ReasonI say that is, I did not tighten all the nozzles down before getting started. I thought It would be easier to remove the tubes, I was wrong. Anyways, jumping over that hurdle, I then removed the assembled loop from the case. I then filled it outside the case, and let it run for about 1 hour to check for leaks.

Once I was confident that there were no leaks, I then put the loop back in the case and tidied up all my cables. From this point I decided on using a push / pull configuration to lower temps even more. I am not happy with the temp, so I will try another TIM. First application of the TIM is AS5. I will try Frostbite next, and then the TIM that comes with the XPSC setup.
Here is the finished product. I am still waiting for my fan controller, and thinking about putting a cathode to liven things up..
If you like my setup, Please +1 it in MODS RIGS..

it's a stock 750 pump which came with kit, got the same one (for now).

fission, what are your temps at idle and under load? is the replacement CPU running cooler than the former one (idling at 45C before)?

your setup looks nice and clean, I like it you have very short tubing which makes it elegant and probably water should flow faster through it.

That is at 4.0Ghz. Turbo enabled. I have multiplier set at 40. Tonight, I will remove cpu block, and apply Frostbite to see if I get better temps. If so, I will shoot for 5.0GHz! If not, I will go for a 46 multiplier and tweak from there.

I just tested my setup, same as yours, only I used the Raystorm cpu block instead of rasa.

at 4.5GHz (2600K at 1.325v vcore) I hit ~55C under LinX load, not bad! especially considered that with H80 i was already at 72C and with EVGA SC cooler I would be hitting almost 80C ...

as per TEC setup, you really need to talk to lehpron. I think that 226W is way less than you need. you'd need something like 500W+ to make it work right... lehpron knows all the math and engineering behind it.
