Is the Z77 releasing soon now? Saturday, April 21, 2012 11:51 PM (permalink)
I put in a pre-order a while back, but when to the items page and now it is showing "notify me" instead of pre-order.  Usually  when they place an item as Notify Me it means that it is out or is out very soon.  Any update from anyone from EVGA on this?

Also, if we have a pre-order, do we know when or where we are in the pre-order que or will there be enough boards for all those that pre-ordered?

Would like to know too, but its also possible that it was switched to notify because every board they had available for launch was pre-ordered, but it could still be a few weeks til it releases, that is if you consider the time frame Jacob gave us.  That would place its release in about mid-May, which would royally suck if IB is to release on Mon.

yeah, according to what MatthewH said (4-6 weeks) about 2 weeks ago, we are looking at a minimum of 2 weeks up to a month wait time on Z77 FTW coming in stock.

Early May sounds good. I wonder what the availability will actually be for Ivy CPUs this week. HMM!

Its looking like Ivy Bridge may release very soon.  Like on Monday which is in about 20min and many of us are hoping for a midnight release.

NDA isnt lifted until 12 am today, and its likely that retail availability wont be until the 29th.

Who knows though, maybe well see them before then. Ill be checking some places at 9 for sure.  A friend of mine told me that MC already has them in stock (just not available yet) so its going to be an exciting week!

Honestly, not really worried about anything but the paper release so we can start seeing reviews.  I know there are a lot of people out there who really want to see what these chips are capable of on a nice new Z77 mobo.  Won't know until that NDA is lifted.  Bring on the reviews!!!

                      From the last page:
"As sexy as the new processors are some people will be a little disappointed though, the new family of processors (when you focus purely on processor performance) is barely faster than the current Sandy Bridge processors. For example, when compared to the Core i7 2600 or 2700 you will only notice (on average) roughly maybe a 10% performance increase compared to a Core i7 3770. So from that point of view one could say that Ivy Bridge really isn't a life-changer when it comes to desktop processor performance."
