TDP being reached, CPU clocking down - can i stop this?

hey, when running some CPU stress tests and monitoring with CPU-Z and Real Temp, the second the the Watts shown by Real Temp hits 93watts the CPU seems to clock down and then rarely if ever hits the max clock speed. i got an H80 so dissipation well over 95 Watts is not a problem, and temps are in check. any idea for some how "unlocking" the TDP ? My builds spec are here : Cheers guys/girls! Will

You want to disable EIST and C1E in the BIOS.

^ +1 those settings are Intel power management on your CPU which keeps it efficient on power draw. Disabling these will allow your CPU to reach higher TDP and power draw beyond its turbo requirements. Also make sure your power profile in Windows is set to high performance as this sometimes has an effect on overlcocks.

Tdp doesnt mean too much... I ran my 2500k above 100 watts at 5ghz with eist and ce1 enabled... You have bad oc bro cpus dont clock down in "safe mode" when they overheat like the 500 series cards if you have EIST enabled your cpu clocks and voltages down internaley when cpu is in idle you will get screen freeze or BDOS if you have BAD OC on your cpu

All the problems of the world could be settled easily if men were only willing to think. The trouble is that men very often resort to all sorts of devices in order not to think, because thinking is such hard work. -Thomas J. Watson

Forgot to link specs, but some mobo's have an option for limited TDP,like ASUS, or Amperage limit, etc. Disable or raise those

hey guys thanks for the quick responses. i tried disabling EIST and C1E this made no difference. i had already up-ed the maximum allowed instantainus currant though the IA rails, i up-ed this again maxing the setting, this allowed a spike that went over 95watts however this then dropped back to 93watts. its a stable OC so far. any other ideas ?
