i7 3820 temps...

My 3820 hits a max of 62c on one of the cores with the Asus turbo fan profile. If I turn up the fan to be more aggressive, I can get it to stay at 59c max. Are these good temps? I re-applied the thermal compound three times... Finally, I have got it more consistent with the cores staying only a few degrees from one another. My 920 used to stay cooler at idle, but I had to change the cooler from the cnps-x10 to the cooler master 612... Do these temps sound right to everyone?

What voltage are you running at? What MHz are you running? These SB-E chips are going to run a little hotter due to the size of it.

Are those temps under Linx/IntelBurnTest/etc? Or under gaming?

Macros Are those temps under Linx/IntelBurnTest/etc? Or under gaming? Max on any core with prime 95. Gaming in BF3 it hits 51c max.

I'd say that's pretty good. Unless your room temp is 0c! My 3930k (which will run hotter due to more cores) tops out at around 78c on IntelBurnTest with a OC of 4.0GHz and a room temp of 22c-28c (without a temp gauge I gotta guesstimate) However with that being said, I think I botched my heatsink placement a little, nothing too much for me to be worried, but I do need to get around to re-seating it.

I re-applied it again and the max temps are now maybe 58 on one core. I used some Arctic Matrix this time and used the line method with pre-tinting. Right now, with 100% CPU load in Prime 95, I am seeing a max of 57 degrees Celsius. Apparently it will only get better after it gets broken in too.
