Damaged Backplate & Bracket ? Wednesday, April 11, 2012 11:26 AM (permalink)
I just got in the mail, my damaged box - no peanuts, no air bags, nothing - the 500 backplate and high-flow bracket in plastic bags, the backplate warped and the backplate bent thru out its length - the end ear piece bent over.

What am I supposed to do with this junk ? I can't believe it got sent out in an oversized box with absolutely no padding - the backplate bag is a blister plastic bag, thats it !

The box's sides are crushed - no wall support. I'm not gonna take this up with the USPS - it'll take them weeks to resolve a $30 issue, never mind the $10 shipping.

I can't believe that there hasn't been other bent backplates/brackets in shipping.

Thanks Matt - here's the 15mb zip - the green circle on img_521 shows the end I opened - the crushed right corner is a result of handling, I guess, by the USPS.

        Matt- you've got a PM

I just received your pictures and again apologize for the damage to the box. I tried calling the number on file but got no answer, so I responded to your email. We will be shipping replacements today and expediting the shipment to get you the accessories faster. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help support you with.

just received my high flow bracket and backplate for 570. high flow bracket was not secured at all, it was simply taped lightly to the blister sleeve and hanging loose without any protection in the box. the backplate was only slid into the blister sleeve which was open on one end, so everything was moving around and banging inside the box.
Box was also crushed on both ends.

thankfully my items look OK, maybe only the high flow bracket is a little bent, but I can straighten it out with fingers, it's very soft anyways.

I don't know why EVGA charges this horrendous $9.90 USPS shipping fee if postage to my place in NJ cost $2.80 from CA, the box is empty, and besides the blister sleeve there is nothing in it.

              shame.

Yeah welcome to EVGA, where they have great products but crappy shipping...

I only buy my EVGA stuff from NewEgg, cuz they actually know how to package.
