Afterburner This is false. They all do as advertised and always have. It is not in EVGA's best interest to advertise something and not have it achieve it. As they would need to RMA it. Total waste of time. Yeah, nobody said they are sending out Lemons here. I never asserted that and neither did anyone else that I've read. That would be idiotic. But are they delaying processing stepups because they are massively binning what stock they have? That is a totally different situation. Of course they are all going to perform as advertised. FWIW I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the days of Overclocking vanilla cards have changed, nobody knows that. We still have immature Bios and driver sets, they work great, but everything changes once the bios evolves and even if none of the hardware is changed, there is certainly a lot of potential to unlock. Yes more power and some refinement in components will help. But every GPU and board is different in its potential in overclocking. Any GPU can only OC so far. That's sort of obvious.

Should add that my friend who's had his stepped up 680 is seeing great FPS junps in all DX11 titles and loves his new card. I will love my 680 and EVGA irregardless. I just like to be as informed as possible, hopefully the great people at EVGA can help answer a few fair questions and get the ball rolling, I'm sort of not looking forward to a week w.o gaming but it will so be worth it! And though I'm sometimes questioning and curious and aggressively inquisitive about things, I really cannot state how much love I have for EVGA, their people, products, software and service to its community. Like a jillion times better than anyone else and still and always my fav hardware company!

chefbenito And EVGA Shannon, to compare this to Willy Wonka and golden ticket is a bit of a stretch. I paid 600 bucks shipped for my 580 Classy Ultra, and I've giving that back to EVGA in return for a stock ... Who? Is it a stretch? If there was no Step-Up you would have paid the 600, and another 500 for this new card if you do as you claimed. A stretch it is not.

Or I would have just sold the ultra classy for a 30 dollar loss and bought an oem kepler two weeks ago.... Early adopters want to adopt early.

chefbenito Or I would have just sold the ultra classy for a 30 dollar loss and bought an oem kepler two weeks ago.... Early adopters want to adopt early. If it was so important for you to be an "early adopter" you should have just bought the card outright. As you've said, they've been available at other retailers on and off since launch. What you want is for the convenience and benefit of the Step Up program but on your time table...that's not going to happen. To think the EVGA would put Step Up request ahead of people paying full price for a card outright is kind of misplaced. Again the best part about this program is that while waiting for your request to be processed you still get to use that awesome, highly overclockable, and more VRAM 580 Classy Ultra.

I could have sure, but its so much more fun to be here talking about the step-up program! :) no movement in 2 weeks and I'm crazy for asking questions. "Just shut up and be thankful, you'll get your card" is the vibe I'm getting from some people. That aint' cool. It is reasonable, normal and fair to ask the questions I'm asking.

I'm actually curious to this question as well. "Is EVGA binning all the GTX 680s they have before they process them for step-ups?"

And please enough w the name calling. Every question I've asked is reasonable and fair. BTW I'm a 33 year old grown man with 2 kids, a full time job, a wife, 2 cars, a dog and a cat, a house with a white picket fence in front and a back yard with a play set and shed for my lawn mower and the kids' power wheels. If I'm in any line that doesn't move for two weeks, I'm going to start asking questions. That is just the kind of guy I am. Being patient and being quiet are two very, very different things. BTW David20Player, nice Rig ya got there, we should game sometime :) I'll extend that to everyone here, would love to game with any of you comrades, just hit me up on Steam and lets frag!

It is just obvious they are binning all the cards for custom editions to increase the margins and the one's that don't OC well go out as step-ups. This is FALSE. You are offering FALSE information and I am am letting folks know that. You are guessing (Nothing wrong with that) and guessing is one thing until you make it sound/look like fact. You do not know how this works or how they do it. We already went over this and I will not repeat it. Anyone is welcome to go back to the last time we spoke about this if a refresher is needed. And to help us all relax take a look at Shane's post # 39 above... http://www.evga.com/forums/fb.ashx?m=1534623

I said clearly that I was guessing and that is why I asked the question straight up. AB I don't think you work for EVGA or actually know what you are talking about for sure either sorry. You have already given me a hard time on this forum for no reason. I'll bow out of this thread but you don't really know either. That is why I asked. People who spend a lot of money on products tend to want a lot in return. This is normal. FWIW I think you need more badges in your signature, looks a bit dull no? I'm not the only one asking/feeling/wondering these things, and that is what forums are for, discussion. Not name calling or finality.

No shame in that. As far as this whole step up thing, yeah I know it's a privilege blah blah blah, but it get's kind of annoying checking to see if there has been any movement only to see there hasn't for 14 days. And believe me, if your excited about getting a gtx 680 you will be checking everyday guaranteed. And then sometimes I'm like "nah I won't bother checking it today" But there I am looking under product details only to see I'm still #36. You can't deny this so stop sucking up. JUST TAKE MY MONEY!!

This waiting is really lame. 14 days at #22. I do know that they need to make money and sending my recently bought GTX 570 HD which I bought for $410 to make only $90 off the GTX 680 is very hard for them to swallow. There are probably over 500 people waiting in stepup to get these so I guess I should consider myself fortunate. I do know that many cards are sent to distribution centers (probably on a regular basis). So my question is, why not sent a least 10 cards per week for stepup instead of letting it amount?

Well the wait will be very much longer at least a month or two at best. Why they don't send 10 a week to the people in step-up is probably because they are not even getting that from NVIDIA. With all the negative publicity about TSMC not being able to churn out chips I would be suprised to see any for the step-up for 3 or 4 months. People are assuming EVGA has control over how many chip and when they get these chips. During a limited release time period by NVIDIA they do not.

hoserx I have my cards.........continue the QQ even if you don't know what it means. lolz SO lets see how they OC? BTW I've been online since I was gophering in telnet in 93, before that I had my own SpitFire and WildCat BBS when I was like 12 or 13. I've never heard of QQ. I asked 4 people all mid thirties, all total geeks, and None of us have any clue wth QQ meant. You are so much cooler than me because you type QQ. Clearly you have played more WoW than me. So you win with ur UBAR 1337 5p33k. I give up. You win. In the mean time... http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2328248
