Beta stuff or "advmethods" is designed for faster/higher end hardware for a reason... don't use the flag if you don't want them.

I don't bother with the flags anymore, I don't feel like managing them anymore as the default projects still give early completion bonuses. I can't speak towards Vmware w/ Ubuntu, I haven't done those in a year or so. I prefer v7 because it's a hell of a lot easier to manage and eats less system resources than loaded VM's. (tons of kernel paging when I use VMware, negatively impacts everyone else on the system)

Well I'm over the v7 after this. back to the no nonsence console verson.
But I'm seeing problems getting the GPU to fold. This is on a laptop with a nvidia 460m.
Any idea what version I could use to get it to fold. 6.23 and newer doesn't seem to work.
It DL a WU it tries to start working but just sets there doing nothing.
Edit: another words it never puts a load on the GPU, nadda, nothing.

Yeah, v7 takes a while before it shows the first 1% progress on a WU.
I switched that one virtualized pc back to v7. Its TPF is now back on track.
Having problems getting v7 going on Debian 6. The client just simply refuses to run. Guess I need to drop it back to 32bit.

Guess you can't run core 11 on a Fermi any more with the console,
its working again once it got a core 15 WU.

Best if you post in the F@H forums about this if you've not already done so. They can look into it, and if it's a glitch with their server they can make sure you get credit for the WU.

Ive got one WU running on a machine at work that has a collection IP of 0.0.0.0. I think someone forgot something on that project.
I made attempts to register on the folding forums, but im apparently not getting registered any time soon.

I'm having the same problem too and just noticed the 0.0.0.0 collection server.  GPU's won't fold at all and they just hover around 20-49% usage.  First happened to me last month and I had to completely uninstall and re-install a couple times to get it working again.  I was hoping they would of had it fixed this month, but I guess not.

some WU's are not using full gpu to start with. Probably one of those "Protein in Water" projects
