yes , as i said i suggest everyone test as we have a bios switch now im not sure if this is with all xeon cpu's or just 5680's but as i said i now DO NOT need any voltages with the settings above mainly 160bclk turbo on or off 1600mhz cl 6 to 9, i could not get a56 to boot unless i touched voltages, and especialy the led post code thing disapearing with a56 and i think it disapeard when you started adjusting settings voltages etc on auto it used to do it but not as often. a53 for me is excellent so far in everyway.

I think were pritty much left in the dust now doesn't seem evga has any interest to keep working on our boards and if they respond its cause we keep baggering them for answers so they just give us some tiny answers to make us go away.

good luck a trend i've noticied with evga over the years with them is as soon as a new board series drops forget about support on older things.  happened with me when i bought a 680i, then again with a 750, and onto x58, and now the SR-2

Looking for cheap web hosting?  PM me for more info.

yeah SR-2 was last one from EVGA for me,  i'm getting a new 680 or something with the EVGA bucks i've accumulated and then i'm going to other companies, evga just doesn't innovate anymore to make it worth sticking to them.

What is it that this new Holy Grail BIOS is going to fix because my SR-2 system is running flawlessly at present and not sure why all the hate towards EVGA that brought us one of the best boards i’ve ever used

Sure i’d love to see a miracle but there is only so much one can expect from a motherboard and a couple of CPU’s or am i missing something

I just the problems ive mensiond in previous posts. The bugs that exist in a56 bios ive seen over this forum with people baffled by the no post led blank screen cold boot problem (have a search in the forum and see many various posts) and people thinking its natural well or having to put up with it. Im not going to repeat myself im guessing most people are proberly not worried about it(I dont think its acceptible though). I just think its abit amature not to test a bios more througher, a53 HAS NOT done the led cold boot post problem on manual or auto settings nor do i need so many adjustments just to boot stable into windows with voltages compared to a53..... 160bclk and 21 multi(without voltages bsod)!!! a53 doesnt require voltages like a56 like eg 160bclk 21 multi with 5680s... a56 requires (voltages) to be stable in windows for just 160bclk 21 multi. I find it highly annoying having to switch on off wait switch on for it to boot with a56. It happens with manual settings more but also even on auto!!!, see my previous posts. There is bugs in a56. Previous person in this thread is experiencing the same problem. And lastly a53 doesnt double boot like a56 is there any reason why a bios has to do that? i find it uncessary since a53 is fine.

I'd agree A56 needs way to much voltage to run a CPU at a OC vs other bios versions.
My E5645 A56 bios has done damage to. Back now in boards it
would run on much less vcore, now take way more than it did.
A56 is killing CPU's it should be pulled from being able to be downloaded
and EVGA should have to pay for those CPU's this bios has destroyed by over voltage.

                    Just my 2 cents worth.

If theres a issue with a56 needing too much voltage to run a cpu then this issue should be addressed not ignored my evga.

As the other poster stated I also found to be true with A56 I needed to apply way more voltage to almost everything to do with overclocking in order to get a stable OC.
Only with the 2nd of 3 different SR2 did I use some of the older bios versions and it did well with those bios with less voltage.
All three boards I had, had one or another problems so they were returned.
I only realized and remebered this after reading there post and how my CPU is doing now after having to up the voltage to get it stable in the SR2.
This CPU ran on super low voltage with super high OC for its type in many other motherboards.
Now in those same motherboards I have to really up the voltage to get any where close to what it would do on much less.
If you read my thread about E5620 & E5645 work in SR2 you will see I post many times where I question why with the SR2 is it taking so much vcore to run at speeds below its max OC.

I used A56 because its the newest release and should be the most stable and best refined of all released bios to date.
Well looks like it should have never been released at all at this point.
What was EVGA thinking? Here is a way to get people away from the SR2 to buy our up coming SRX.
We'll release a bios that will make it cause problems & become crap and people will think its dieing and move on to our newest release SRX.

Probably not true as I could read a lot into something or nothing at all.
I think it was either a rush release or just not tested enough before release.
All that said I do plain on getting another SR2, but you can be sure I will not use A56 on the next one.
From my reading A54 & A53 are the way to go with this board, hope others will take note and stray from A56.

When I was building my new SR-2 a few months ago, one of the first things I did was update the BIOS.  I could NEVER get the thing to boot and be stable at stock clocks no matter what I did...I never attributed it to the latest BIOS as I did that as one of the very first things.  Runs really well though overclocked as it is now on that same BIOS, but I did think it was odd...even posted about getting help about it, never correlated the two.

well i would be moving back to ASUS rampage series ---though i love the board and paid a lot of money for it --but its futile attempt to keep on posting here and see nothing been done about the issues as mentioned many times over .

atleast fix the save profile thing ---

at least fix the save profile thing ---

Agree, its one of the main fetchers I was looking forward to using.
Being able to quick save/load multi saved OC settings from a saved profile is a must with a board such as this.

well i would be moving back to ASUS rampage series ---though i love the board and paid a lot of money for it --but its futile attempt to keep on posting here and see nothing been done about the issues as mentioned many times over .

atleast fix the save profile thing ---

Its not really futile to keep posting cause people will eventually see this thread and realize that evga isnt supporting there customers and might look at another company the only person to blame here is evga for not even looking into some of these issues were top paying customers and paid top dollar for there extreme products and this is what we get ill keep posting till i get a answer saying were looking into fixing this stuff or something. Granted i have no issues myself with my sr-2 but obviously others in the community do and it should be addressed not ignored.

Its proberly because nobody cares(which is dangerous for users) and or does not do user extensive comparisons to see the problems(evga and user as well)in which proberly evga watching this thread and not taking it serious because its only a few of us realsing this problem........Its like that with many companies, you have to strangle someone by the neck these days to get your message accross. They expect alot of users to report a problem insted of them TESTING proberly also for cost cutting. This is the whole point where not here to slave away testing other wise you can pay me to test.

First off, I'm not surprised they aren't responding to this thread. IT IS A MESS! Jacob asked for a solid list of updates desired. TheWolf attempted to maintain one. However, you have to dig through the thread.

I'm willing to create a new list. If people will private message me issues that they would like to see fixed, then I can put together a more detailed list in a new thread.

On another note...Something that has yet to be mentioned is the horrible fan-speed control, and the inconsistencies between the bios and labels for fans.

I had a similar issue. However, it did turn out to be the RAM. The best way to check is to test 1 RAM stick at at time. Laborious, but helpful.

Jacob and other from EVGA have seen the posts as they have replied.
I can move the list to the opening post, its not a problem. I'd like to see this resolved.
At the moment there to busy working on SR-X bios problems to be worried about SR2.
They only have love for the SR-X, and tough love for SR2 owners.
But hey feel free to do what you will to help the cause, someone needs to.
My plains are to get another SR2, so here's to hoping something will be done and soon BY EVGA about this.

Edit: Opening post updated, there is also a post here linking back to here, so ya they know.

Here is something else that looks like it needs to be added to this thread.
                                                      http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1644595
                                                      uartin

Is it possible to know why after bios 41 the support for 8 gpu was broken?
i heard oftentimes saying that the sr-2 with more than 6 gpus tend to be unstable.
Mine is rock stable with 4 6990. the only thing is that, because of a bug in the allocation of resources, after the version 41 of bios,  the system cannot anymore manage to allocate efficiently resources for 8 gpus.
Is it possible to fix this problem?
I  also contacted evga staff a few months  ago. Iwas told that evga would have investigated the problem but didn't receive anymore any news. I have an opencl workstation and not being able to have the latest bios after spending a fortune utterly bugs me :)
                                                      Cheers to all

+1 on UEFI support.  UEFI would address a number of issues that anyone who adds a lot of cards might run into, plus with a huge raid drive it would be nice to just be able to boot from it.

I couldn't run stable on the latest bios. I updated the bios first thing when I got the MB, and I had to overclock just to see all ram and cores, since it wasn't showing them at the standard safe boot options.
