Can't believe i spent $1500 in about 3 minute Tuesday, March 27, 2012 8:41 AM (permalink)
I cancelled my tiger direct order and overpaid $90 for 2 evga 680 from ebay(Yes i couldn't wait)..Plus i ordered me a Corsair 1200W gold certified PSU to power them. Now the bummer is i ordered 2 gtx 680 backplate and it's taking them forever to process the payment although it shows the "green light" via my bank account. I don't know if they accept the payment when they are shipping it or what not. I guess it's all in the fun when trying to keep your PC up to date.

My cards should arrive friday, hopefully the backplate order goes through so i can show off some pics.

Tiger authorizes the card, but does not charge it until it ships.  So you will see your available credit is down bu the amount of the tiger transaction for about a week from the date you placed the order but then it will be free again.

Downside of EBay is your warranty may not be honored... be careful with that.

I am sure i am going to enjoy it. I don't know if i am wasting money on this PSU since i already have a 1000W, do you think this one will support both card? http://kingwin.com/produc...plies/abt_1000MA1S.asp if it does then i'll cancel the order of the 1200W since it would be unnecessary.

Well there is a 30 day return on them, i didn't think about this when ordering(i never cared about warranty before). Hopefully nothing happens with them.. Please see my above post.

I'm more than confident that my 850w will run 2x680s... 1000w is overkill... 1200w is ridiculous!  If I were you, I'd scrap the PSU idea... apparently these 680s only use ~200w each...

The 1200 watt corsair is an amazing piece of hardware. You get what you pay for when it comes to psu's. You may be able to sufficiently run 2 gtx 680's "fine" with some variation of an 850 watt psu, but depending on how hard you are pushing your cpu overclock, want room for overclocking a few 680's, and want plenty of room for upgrading in the future, it is well worth the money.

I ordered my second GTX680 today as well as 2 backplates.
I paid per paypal which worked flawlessly.
Unfortunately I have to wait a bit due to #519 in queue.

Pay and play. Nothing is for nothing except ...
I don't want to count together what I spend last 3 month bulding my rig from scratch.

So lets compare our premium rigs next time and have fun.

As far as warranty goes, doesn't the warranty follow the card now per eVGA's new policy? Thus ebay purchases should be fine for coverage?

But the warranty won't follow the Step-Up, which is disappointing if You just booked a 10 Years coverage.

I don't see why it shouldn't. Someone else bought it and basically reselling it brand new..why shouldn't it follow?

Hope you bought that PSU from NewEgg, it's like $279 or so, and has a 15% off code right now, making it $235.
