I'm confused.

The OP went nuts on a forum and they since banned his account (using his handle as an excuse to punish his forum behavior), but the only way he can play BF3 is to buy the game again and install it under a new account? He can't just create a new one and play the game he purchased?

I don't care about the forum part. It should be separate. But I also get the nature of multi player games is tied to an online account. 

Still... This is a slippery slope. Seems to me this type of situation is destined to eventually fall into the hands of a damn good lawyer who will make EA life miserable.

With his current BF3 game, the serial is linked to his EA account. IF he re-installs BF3, he can't enter that serial with another account, so yeah, he'd have to re-purchase the game to play..

and this is why I have nothing to do with ea and also tell everyone of my friends not to deal with them
If I was op, I would spread his around to make them look bad
they should only ban you online or at lest give your $ back

I think that is about the worst attitude i have ever seen from a person representing a for profit company, ever.  "we can take your games at any time, for any reason, and without reparation" made all the worse with the knife twisting, taunting heckle of an actual EA employee. perhaps that is EA's stance.

my veiw is this: having an "unmoderated" forum is simply asking for trouble. opening such a sandbox to dumb middle-schoolers who think they can act cool and tough by cursing is your asking for trouble and your acting to protect the sensibilities of said population that visits the forum-- not by removing the offensive content, but by coercing an additional payment from the customer. that sounds suspiciously like a crime to me. criminal activity voids contracts. just sayin

Personally I belive that between EA's business model and Valve's distribution, we all as gamers have been getting progressively -edited- starting about 10 years ago.. and its only been getting worse.
 
I am certainly no friend of EA and its TOS, or of electronic distribution and associated DRM.
 
It disgusts me to know that my personal privacy and my rights are at risk, simply by turning on the hardware I bought and connecting to the web with software I paid for.

For the sake of the thread don't poke maniacvvv, threads tend to get derailed and locked. He was just offering advice to someone who hurt their own case.

There are always two sides to a story. If they went on a tirade on the EA forums and that's the true reason why they got banned, why did the OP attempt to misinform us that this is purely an account naming issue? I don't appreciate when people aren't on the level when ranting about injustice.

ok, my mistake. not many non-EA employees can just "review" a case to find out why one's account was locked or testify to the fact that prior warnings or other abuses, nor do they then proceed to make official policy comments like "the ban will not be lifted." so you can see how your original post might have caused that confusion.

doing a search for "ea bans for account name" It is really disturbing at the amount of people they are doing this to. It seems all one needs to do is report a player from battlog and say the name offends them and your gone. It would appear as though common sense in the world is gone.

Some of us old timers and long time gamers have connections inside game companies and  Evenbalence ,PC parts companies etc .We just don't brag about them or threaten with it.Friends you make can help you later if you don't abuse the friendship.

According to the email i recieved my ban was based on my name, i was informed of nothing else by ea. I never even got a notice that my account has been banned. Many of the things maniac has said i already know myself, i read ea tos and saw that they "have the power to terminate an account without notice" which is BS but sadly its still there and there is nothing i can do about it. If the ban was based on my actions in the forums i should have received a forum ban not an account ban.
 
BTW guy i still have all of my games as of now, it said in the email they are going to delete my account but i dont know why they wouldnt have already done it by now.

See that is the crazy part. No matter what he did or what happens. The fact is he paid $60 to play that game. I guess since I don't play multi player as much as others (and do not choose screen names screaming my youth/ignorance lol nothing personal to the OP) I still think its outrageous EA can do something like that. How about this... If EA deems a handle against its TOS. Automatically rename it to like EACUST123456. 
 
Then work with said person on a more reasonable screen name if they so desire. And if they go ballistic in a forum. Change their name in the forum and suspend/ban them from there. Ultimately they still reserve the right to play the game they paid for. 
 
That will never happen because it would require more infrastructure, aka more man power, aka more $, aka less profit.
 
The entire process is not customer centric. Its alarming.

Understandable
Because Kingofnipples is on my Battlelog friends list, I get a message everytime he posts in the official forums. And I am able to bring up every post he made since he joined my "friends" list, that was why I used the term "review".
 
As for my comments on EA banning accounts, EA's TOS banning behavior is established and very well known.
 
As for being able to "help" someone with a EA issue, my access comes simply from having the correct names/departments email addresses and phone numbers to call. Such information is semi-public, but EA makes it difficult if not impossible to get that proper contact information, lest they be overwhelmed by thousands of angry or unhappy users. While line Support and supervisors have alot of options, the "real" power over serious EA account issues is extremely limited. 
I am lucky enough to have been given that information by a old friend who was aware of those fine details and my personal discretion. I have certainly had need of it over the years, as I am a very public target given my very strongly held views about gaming and honor.

No i did not want it locked. But i just found out why it has been locked i think. I just found this email that i received today.

It does not bother me the slightest! The forums distracted me from the game and wasted alot of my time. Im glad i got banned from that hellish place. Im just happy i get my stuff back!

damn that really sux man. we cant totally blame EA because soo many out there have completely pushed them to the limits, tho i had a feeling you crossed the wrong person... EA seems to have good intentions but yea hehe

totally sux man.... surprised with soo many getting week or two week bans you would get perm removed.  kinda scary..makes me want to never post in bf3 forums again, and leave after 1 round in any server im doing really well in.  sad 

Thats why ive promised myself that i will never post in the battlelog forums again. Anyways im banned from the forums there until 2/26/2013 so i dont have to worry about it. I played a few games tonight so its confirmed that my account has been unbanned. I could use some free games though! Your friend had it way worse than i did!
