what do you think of this website idea? Friday, March 23, 2012 4:25 PM (permalink)
i as many others HATE advertising i HATE IT but then i realized i watch ads all the time not even knowing about it for example when watching a youtube video of a game that acts as an ad same with seeing threads about new products thats also ads so in a way we all watch advertisement with our own free will so whenever someone search for something in that website the website owner gets payed as it means someone searched for the ad not making it an ad same with youtube videos i have had several people watch my videos to then decide to buy a gaming pc or gta thats in a form advertisement

so my crazy idea is an ad based website you choose to view the ads it would range from practically anything search anything and it shows up from any online store this would mean you would willingly search for something you are interested in an ad you willingly watch

the name idea for such a website would maybe be something like adview.com

it is just a very crazy idea i thought of sharing as like i said we all watch ads with our own free will it is the ads forced upon us that we all HATE

it is simply a crazy idea i wanted to share see what others think

    adview.com.

    Kinda like http://www.adview.com/index.html

Ummm, seems someone already thought of it. BTW, the ads that accompany youtube vids ARE forced upon you, I don't like them, I don't want them, but if you want to watch youtube vids you will see them.

The only ads I willingly watch are the SuperBowl ads, some of them are very good and amusing.

People that want to watch ads watch the shopping network, info-mercials, and they're "different" kinda people. Personally, I think it's major fail.
Got some stuff in a plastic box that's makes my screen turn on when I push the button on the front, cool.

I think it's aliens, but I'll have to confirm with voodoo do-er on that.

Not quite the same idea, but ad based once again. There are hundreds of coupon sites out there, anyone wanting a deal on literally anything can find a coupon for it online.

I have a friend who has tried to start up an online car sales site for used cars, much like http://www.autopark.ca/default.aspx on facebook.

Yeah, more than a wee bit late to the party, he really doesn't have anything to offer over a website that's already established. Traffic is basically non-existant, after 2 years he's gone nowhere with it.

How could the website you want to start up compete with those that already exist? Unless you have something new and exciting to bring to the table it just won't work.

Keep working on it though, maybe you'll come up with something to make you rich.

Dude, you can't patent an idea, and if you come up with an awesome idea and post it on here or anywhere, anyone can run with it.
