I did not deal with the issue at all today.  I come here and scroll down this web page and the screen went black for 2 seconds.

This is a reinstall of windows.  I wonder what the hell it is.

Do you guys have a logitech kb/mouse?

Re:680. Random "Black Screen". Red screen now as well after a format/reinstall. Sunday, April 29, 2012 1:25 PM (permalink)
I just bought Shogun 2 Fots.  I was hoping I could run it maxed and stay at 60 fps.  With 8msaa thats a no go sadly.

Once I was satisfied with my campaign map FPS I entered my first battle...
    Red Screen.
Awesome.  I am going to try the beta drivers now.  This is a fresh install of windows after a format with the WHQL drivers.

I just installed the beta drivers and during the install process it rebooted my PC a couple times and had the mobo beeping as well.  How odd.

Hmm I did just flash my vertex 3 to a new bios the other day.

**Beta driver got rid of the red screen.

I've been having a black screen issue in BF3 lately. Running SLI evga ref 680s with 3 monitors. Game will freeze, all screens go black and then after a few seconds they go into standby. Hard reset is the only way to fix it. Its happening on 301.10, 301.24 and 301.25.

I'm having the problem too.  Battlefield crashes, my WMC TV tuner makes the screen handshake constantly on fullscreen and windowed it flashes like crazy, basically can't do anything but surf the web on my computer now. I clean installed the latest Beta drives and the issue persists.

I've had this happen on and off about 8 times now, usually when I'm typing and once when playing BF3. For me, unplugging and replugging in my keyboard connector solved the problem but WTH? It seems like a driver issue to me. This just started happening in the last few days so I'm not real sure what to make of this other than it's frustrating.

Add me to the list. 2 X 680 SC Signature in SLI while running Heaven 3.0 my screen goes black (you can still hear the music in the background) then I see the display port connection flash on the screen (this happens when the monitor is unplugged). Only a forced reboot will bring the PC back. What I have found is if I downclock my GPU core by 20MHZ the black screen and lock up issue is gone. PC is completely stable with all games and benchmark apps.

I've been running mine at stock speeds. One time I did get a message on screen about No DVI something but it flashed too quick to remember the exact wording. I checked and rechecked my cable connections and both ends are secure so why that message flashed I have no idea.

See, I am not crazy!  It still happens.  I am just waiting for a new driver, and hoping that will fix it.

I seem to get the "Flicker" mostly when surfing and if I am using my mouse wheel to scroll on something.  Mostly.

I'm having similar issues with my 680.  When playing various games, I get a sudden black screen and often times, you can still hear the game playing through the audio, but you have no video.  When this happens, it will either eventually come back to the game with a drastically reduced frame rate, or it bounces me back to desktop with a Windows message declaring the driver stopped responding and is restarting with reduced settings (which never seems to recover).   Temps peaked at 77C, but are usually in the high 60s to low 70s.  Also, the power supply is a just a few month's old Corsair 850W, so power shouldn't be an issue.

My card is a Superclocked card, but if I downclock it to stock non-Superclock speeds, I haven't been able to reproduce the problem.  This is all with a clean Windows 7 install and using the DVI-D connector with no adapters.

Lastly, the card was tested in a second machine and the problem moved with it.

My system works great with my old 580 in it, so I have an RMA started for a new card.  Hopefully the chances of getting two bad cards in a row are slim.

Same issue, black screen 3d applications, random times. And flash or in nvidia control panel. I think it is a pci-e issue, with driver to north bridge. But who knows sent jac and nvidia and cyberpower and evga a message! wish me luck lol
