Hi guys ,
My Asus G73Jh got bricked when I flashed MSI vbios with my Asus hd 5870m card so now the screen is blank , but I can do ctrl + alt + del restart , I can confirm this because after I press it the laptop restarts and keyboard light lights up again, and hdd spins.
so the culprit is the vga, I tried flashing vbios blindly but it doesnt get flashed, I tried to even backup my bios but it doesnt get backuped ( I do this things blindly im sure about the commands).
but I removed the vga and turned on the laptop then both the fans were on 100% speed , with the gpu it runs slowly ,
Now what should I do , should I desolder the vbios chip and re-program it with spi programmer and re solder it? can any one tell me which programmer I should buy and is there an alternate solution?

He flashed the Vbios on his video card with a bios for a different card and now its bricked.
 
I dont even know why you would attempt that. Trying to get better speed?

If your not getting any video at all than you might be out of luck. Especially if its on a laptop. A desktop you could boot off of a second card and force flash a bios on the other card with the correct program.

If you tried to flash an ASUS with a MSI BIOS, then ASUS will not help.

You would most likely be ahead to get a new card for this lap top.

Sounds like your out of luck... not sure what Asus is going to think about this. Best of luck though.

but I dont have warrenty because I bought this from ebay and I cant even RMA this.

You have ruined the card, no going back since the BIOS change did not take. You can call Asus to see if they have a replacement part for your video card. I'm not sure if that card is changeable or not. Other than that... You will have to suck this one up as a loss. Sell it as a parts PC on eBay.

Get the ASUS bios and blind flash that. Quit screwing with MSI bios.

I tried blind flashing but it doesnt work , I called asus but they offer them at very high price, but a guy on forum gave me a offer for his msi 5870m for 80$ so I should buy it or buy a spi programmer and reprogram my vbios chip and resolder it.

Why wouldn't you just increase the clocks with NiBiTor instead?  Flashing to another brand's BIOS is never a good idea.  
 
Of course NiBiTor will complain that it doesn't recognize the BIOS since NiBiTor doesn't have laptop BIOS support, but there is a work-around to allow NiBiTor to start recognizing the BIOS.

At this point, I think your best option is to either buy that used video card you mentioned or reprogram your original BIOS chip.  Whatever you are comfortable with, is up to you.

According to what I understand about those laptops the video card itself is a separate board and can be replaced. You'll have to disassemble most of the laptop to get towards the fan assembly near where the CPU resides along with the video card itself.
 
There are plenty of links on google to find the methods to do this and instructions from ASUS themselves on how to disassemble the laptop for maintenance. You'll just have to purchase another video card to replace it with since you bricked the previous one flashing the improper BIOS to the card.
 
My recommendation is to get the replacement, fix your issue and don't try flashing it anymore. Unless, of course,  you continue to want a bricked laptop.

yes nibitor will work with laptop bios ,but the thing is even if I modify my own vbios I get gsod so some guy in NBR told me that he flashed a asus hd 5870m with msi vbios, but I have read it wrong , he have mentioned he only flashed asus vbios with msi card I have missunderstood because I was in a hurry to fix gsod.
yes im thinking of buying that vga card and replace it with this,
but if I fix the problem with spi programmer , its cheap and will be very useful for furture bricks.
I can disassemble my g73 in 4 mins , totally disassemble till removing the cpu.

The last bit of advice I can give you about this is to thoroughly understand what you are doing and ensure you have the proper steps, knowledge and backup available when you do attempt it again. Decide on your course of action and go for it. Sometimes it's the only way you'll learn and (as well this time) the experience will help you not make mistakes like this again. All the advice here is giving you alternatives and warnings about flashing VBIOS from differing brands is there to ensure you understand the steps you are proposing to take. It's entirely up to you how you want to proceed from here on out. Using a reprogrammer might recover that board but it might not also. You are proposing to desolder a chip on a daughter video board which has been done by the factory. There is a good chance you'll be successful but also an even chance you'll have failure enough to where it's no better off than you are currently. Just understand the risks and be willing to go that route.
