Question before purchase Sunday, February 19, 2012 5:18 PM (permalink)
Hey guys,

Well I'm about to make the jump and buy a evga mobo (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005G2U7AA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER) and I have a few questions.

I see the Asus Bios supports the mouse, EUFI or something it was. Does evga support this?
Is the evga bios user friendly such as the asus one?

Also a question I saw on the reviews about the board:

This review is from: EVGA Z68 ATX DDR3 2133 Intel - LGA 1155 Motherboards 130-SB-E685-KR (Personal Computers)

Great upgrade from my old EVGA board. So far it is running smoothly and has a nice little glowing EVGA logo on it. Only issue I have had is with the SATA 3.0 ports. First you have to update the BIOS to A05 to get it up to date. After that, be sure you do not put any SATA 2.0 devices into the SATA 3.0 ports or they will be unrecognized or give you random issues. This appears to be undocumented and an issue other users are experiencing. Also, after the BIOS update be sure to do a CMOS reset to ensure the settings are not corrupted. Aside from those initial issues, it is running smoothly with my other components!

Is this true?

I haven't seen theirs but the BIOS screen is different, but no mouse control xP I'm assuming its the BIOS interface? You can see it on the OC sticky in this section.

I have both. The ASUS you can use a mouse, EVGA not. They are a bit different than the standard BIOSs earlier. They are both friendly to OC with, but still a little clumsy when saving BIOS  profiles. There is not enough difference to pull in the direction for which board I'd buy .... that's not why I have both. My MB's are both great boards and the least defining feature between them is the BIOS.

Thank you very much for the help.

I'll go with EVGA even though ASUS looks prettier :P I'd rather support a company I like and know the kind of support I will receive.

I have always been treated well by Evga, and so they have my loyalty as long as they keep up the good customer service.
