Any games like gauntlet? Friday, February 17, 2012 10:46 AM (permalink)

Who remembers gauntlet? more or less back on N64 - Xbox. 4 players.

Anyways the closest thing i can find to this is magicka. However i have been hoping to find something like it but on Xbox 360... more or less something to play when people come over.

Or if i could get something on steam and play with a few others.

I used to play Gauntlet and Gauntlet II on the NES a lot back in the day. And then loved Gauntlet Legends when it came out for the Dreamcast. I do miss those games and wish they still made them. I know they made a Gauntlet Seven Sorrows for the 360, but I have no idea if it's as good as the originals.

I had that game on PS2. Was the best thing ever when i could get people to play with me. I think i was a red dwarf. lol.

I was thinking more of Dark Legacy and before. And yeah i mean Gauntlet. Sorry about that. xD I never played seven sorrows.

I am beganing to think the best way to get my fix is going to be to drag around the dream cast.

I almost forgot about that game. "Elf is about to die!" I wasted all kinds of quarters on that one. That was one of the few games that I had to beat years later with the help of the internet cause I could never get to level 100. I'd always get the wrong warp and get stuck in a level loop.

no the original was there.. it was one of the 1st games I bought on the 360
I just checked the link (add to queue) and it is a dead link now

Yeah, the original Gauntlet was one of the first games that I downloaded on the 360. And I just went looking for it in the marketplace again, but it's not in the store anymore for some reason. Thankfully I still have mine on my harddrive.

But I would love if they released Gauntlet Legends/Dark Legacy with online capabilities on the 360 or steam.

Red warrior needs food badly!

"Modern" equivilants to gauntlet i'd equate out to diablo and torchlight. I vaguely recall dark souls, but can't really say much about it. Hell even the early zelda games and Ys had the guantlet feel to them with the top down view and the control input.

Oops almost forgot, there was the ever present smash TV as well.

I was looking for more of 4 player single console games. Xbox 360, I was hunting though the arcade and it seems to have a few that could work out. But still lack the feel.

Oh. Well that would be for PS2 and Xbox i think.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance can be fun. As long as your not stuck with the dumb heroes. lol. There are only like 3 good ones.

Yeah, I was about to point this out. I used to play this when it first came out. Matter fact, I never owned a console when I first started gaming. Instead, I would head down to the nearest 7/11 to play a couple games.
