My brother called us to pick him up so we went when we came back as we were opening the door i noticed the dogs were not barking in the normal way they would when we come home which bothered me. i walk inside first and find tracks of oil leading to the den and a empty container that was suppose to house a baked chicken and my dog was licking its paws in satisfaction.thats when it hit me i asked my mom did she put the chicken away she replies its on top of the stove i reply no its not and thats when i knew..... + = Not Good...... The point of my post is im worried will my dog get sick he left nothing behind no bones no skin no cartilage Nothing.......

Hope your dog will be okay. But most big dogs can chew down n eat bones like its candy. I'm not a dog expert but letting them eat some bones here n there is actually good for their health.

Yeah he should be fine. My dog has ate whole chicken bones, etc. He also swallowed a squirrel WHOLE once! Their stomachs are pretty tough.

Most likely the worst that will happen is your dog will make a mess out of one end or the other, or both.

Yea if things do get bad, they might just have diarrhea xP if something gets in sensative areas of the stomach. For the most part, nothing to worry about for now. Just keep a eye on em. and damn! caught a whole squirrel huh? xD

^^^Haha true. And yeah! Dad, and I was squirrel hunting. I shot one, laid it on the ground, we went walking forward, I just thought about him, turned around, and all I seen was the tail getting swallowed. I bet that hurt digesting hahaha.

Your dog should be fine. In fact I would think the worst thing would be a bit of barfing from over eating. My dog ate a whole pan of lasagne once. It wasn't a small pan either. Major side effects including drowsiness, burping, gas and a guilt complex.

the dog will be fine bones are actually good for them, we used to have a great dane and we would get cow femurs i think they were for him... get a dog a real bone and watch him lick the marrow out of it... at the time when we had the great dane we lived down the street from a marshy, swampy area and he would bring back mice sometimes just the bones, sometimes the whole thing and sometimes still moving... still don't know how this 6'5" dog (when he stood on this hind legs) caught these 2" mice...

Major side effects including drowsiness, burping, gas and a guilt complex. Well it could be worse. A couple of years back I thought I would be nice and give my dog (German Shephard) a big plate of leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner. The next morning I got up to go do some early shopping, and when I went downstairs the entire family room was covered and I mean covered in piles of feces and diarrhea. Of course the next few hours was spent cleaning it up, and trying to get the mess out of the carpet. Would have been a great episode for that guy on Dirty Jobs.

Labs eat entire fish and aren't bothered by the bones, a whole chicken was candy for your dog
Got some stuff in a plastic box that's makes my screen turn on when I push the button on the front, cool. I think it's aliens, but I'll have to confirm with voodoo do-er on that.

The thing to worry about with dogs eating chicken bones is the fact the bones can splinter and get lodged in their throat. If he is acting normal after the fact(not choking or labored breathing) the only thing you have to worry about is the mess he is going to make tomorrow.

cooked bones are bad for dogs, raw is fine, as long as you see no blood in the stool you should be ok.

Your dog should be fine...I had a dog that ate everything. He used to kill all kinds of animals and eat them. Once he came back with a deer!! Now rice is a different story. My wife's aunt's dog got a hold of a bowl of rice and inhaled it. The dog instantly couldn't breathe so they tried everything to help but the dog starting bleeding out of the nose and passed away.
