I'm in as well for the PrimeGrid challenge since it's a CPU project. RHMash, could you make a separate thread about this? Is there an AVX build that can be used for this challenge?

Well, I knew that there was an LLR app compiled for AVX (back since the last challenge) but what I was asking was if it was usable for the current challenge. The answer is yes.

Is it just me, or does it seem like once one of us posts some new results to Muon1 everyone else fires it back up for a bit?

I just get tired of waiting for it to auto-upload (which only seems to happen once a week some times) so I force an upload when I see my stats haven't updated for a while. It's a pretty weird client as DC clients go.

So to get credit for Prime Sierpinski Problem Project do you have to do the manual setup or can you use PrimeGrid and select the PSP project?

AvengingAngel So to get credit for Prime Sierpinski Problem Project do you have to do the manual setup or can you use PrimeGrid and select the PSP project? Select PSP under PrimeGrid, the points are captured in PrimeGrid. You have to do the manual setup and can refer to this thread Prime Sierpinski Problem - PSP.

I have two sandy bridges that I am trying to get new gear for. I tend to do everything backwards. I buy procs before everything else. Finally completed all the PRP tasks. Will get back to PRP once the Boinc Pentathalon is completed.

Saved a few threads from the Pentathalon to participate in the PrimeGrid Cinco de Mayo Challenge. So far it looks like I am the only one! I've moved us up to 36th place though

Yeah I am running it sparingly since, despite my settings of resource sharing, BOINC lets PrimeGrid take over almost all threads. We did pretty well in the other PrimeGrid challenges so far so I thought I would at least put some points up for us. UPDATE: Well I have turned in my last task for the PrimeGrid Challenge. Our team is currently at 55 out of 204 and today is the last day...pretty good for going it alone!

eon is a pretty good one, as well.... Regardless of your work buffer, it only allows you to hold two tasks per active thread, and they're fairly short tasks.... And Boinc does a pretty decent job with the scheduling, you don't have all threads running eon tasks if you have other work loaded and I've never seen an instance where no eon task was running. Given that, it isn't as good of a choice for those who aren't constantly connected. If I ran eon alone, I would run out of work in about 20 minutes without always being connected.

Love all these ideas, thank you for them. I have added five new projects in the last few days as a part of this threads suggestions. And the new CUDA 4.2 is off the hook. Prime Grid and GPUGRID chew it up with big bonus points on GPUGRID with any CUDA 4.2 compatible GPU...
