500 series or 600 series.

So I recently bought a 580 hydro copper 2 (3gb) and I am wondering if I should of just waited for the 600 series or if planning to SLI 3 of them was worth it. After reading alot of the forums and dates when products come out I cant figure out if its just me or is Nvidia launching new cards every 2 months or are the cards just really not that far apart from each other and Im just worrying too much. Or is it that they are coming out with much better cards often and theres not really much I can do except blow a bunch of money to get all the new goodies?

If you have one already, enjoy it. There'll always be something new out there just around the corner. What might be and what you have are two different things though. Enjoy what you have.

You should wait for the 800 series. That is the best that will come out before the end of the world.

If you plan to SLI them be sure to pick the others up sooner than later. 600 series is rumored to launch within the next month and a half, starting with GK104. Even if it beats your card it won't likely be enough to warrant the swap (assuming you'd have to take a loss on the 580?). Odds are the AIB cards like hydrocopper versions would be even further out, if any. So you would have a few months to enjoy before even worrying about it.

WHy did you buy such a sucky card man? I will do you a favor and buy it for $50 so you can get a great card in the 600 line. Your welcome! Ok, now that's out of the way. You have the top dog in cards, one I wish I could afford. enjoy it!! If you feel the need ,then sell it when the card of your choice comes out. However, the offer still stands.

Guess it depends if you feel you could have got a 600 series for what you spend on your 580. Is it worth it to wait or start using your 580 now. If it was a big upgrade form previous enjoy it now.

He means recently as in about 2+ months ago. So Step-Up is out I'm sure. If I was him, I'd get another for SLI, after Kepler releases, cuz so many will be selling for whatever price, just to jump on the band-wagon.

agent8 You should wait for the 800 series. That is the best that will come out before the end of the world. this so totally wrong. we all know that the world ends in December and there is no way Nivda is going to get the 8 series out by then.
