FAH Gpu Tracker not recognizing my CPU overclock? Wednesday, February 08, 2012 6:26 PM (permalink)
I just noticed this but I went to go start folding for a bit while I do some small mods for fans and noticed the tracker shows my cpu running at 2900mhz? This is my stock speeds as I have a AMD Athlon II X4 635. I how ever have it overclocked to 3.48Ghz. Does the tracker just not recognize cpu overclocks or has something gone terribly wrong?

Don't worry about it.  It detects the CPU model, not the actual clock speed.  All of my rigs are the same way.  Use CPU-Z to better see actual real-time clock speed.

Yah I am using CPU-Z along with Core Temp and I can see my speeds fine. I just thought that since the tracker wasn't showing it at 3.48ghz it might be affecting my SMP folding.. Thank you for your help.

I also have another question which i would like to put here instead of making a new thread.

Ok I understand you do not receive bonus points for SMP folding until you have completed something like 10 WU's right? Well I sometimes see on the tracker that it shows how much PPD I receive on the smp section but there are times like now where it just says 0. Can someone tell me if this is just because I haven't complete the required WU's to started getting smp points counted? Or should this still show in my tracker and just not be counted?

          1. The clocks shown in tracker have no effect on the folding capabilities. The CPU will fold at the speed you set for your OC.

          2. When the tracker shows 0 PPD it just means it doesn't have enough information to calculate it. Let it get 3 or 4 % completed and then it will show the appropriate PPD. Note that tracker is not set up to know when you have reached enough wu submitted to start getting bonus, so it just always calculates as if you would be getting bonus points. As long as the unit gets submitted to Stanford before the deadline it will get points awarded.

Now it is recognizing my overclock settings in tracker. Is this normal?
