colors are distorted when using 3D vision discover glasses, PLEASE HELP Monday, January 30, 2012 4:58 PM (permalink)
Hello,
I just purchased NVIDIA 3D VISION DISCOVER GLASSES (RED & BLU), I ran the sut up on NVIDIA controll panel, everything went ok, but, when I run the test or I run LEFT FOR DEAD 2 or any other game with 3D stereo  on, looking at the LCD with the glasses, I can see the deepness, and the effects are actually amazing, looks like things are coming out the screen, but the colors are so distorted, I mean it looks like if the LCD is missing a color, it's all based on red.
Why it's doing this?
 There is any setting that my dumb self is not finding to fix the colors problem?
and in some objects, I can see the object a little double, like the cross hair, I can see 1 nice and bright, and the 2nd is allmost invisible and a little off the 1st on.

      I know this screen isn't 3D, But that is why I got the discover red & blue glasses, they should work on any regular monitor, you don't need a 3D expensive set with those glasses, they should be the same thing they use to use back on the 60 on cinema, and I can tell you is a pretty good cheap way to go 3D effects (the glasses are onlly 5$ on ebay), but the only problem I running right now is the colors, looks like reddish, all most black & white, but the 3D effects are amazing, I couldn't even recognize LEFT FOR DEAD 2 when I activated the 3D stereo for the 1st time after I got the glasses, is amazing, sadly I don't like the colors.
      I'm start thinking that those are fake cheap china reproduction of the NVIDIA 3D VISION DISCOVER GLASSES, and they don't filter right the colors, but is just a suspect I have, I was hopping if anybody in here uses this way of getting 3D and I would like to know if they running in to the same issue I have.

      24” INSIGNA LED-HDTV 1080p 60Hz isn't a 3d tv/monitor... that could be the problem :P

        exactly, apparently they don't need a 3D ready screen, they should work on regular screens, but apparently!!!
        Since they really get you there with the deepness and I'm not kidding, is amazing you have to see it with your own eyes for understand what I mean by amazing, but the colors is so bad, In left for dead I can't recognize the green from the yellow or red around the survivors when I play as infected on versus games, this is how bad colors get distorted, so if this is the way those glasses suppose to work they are not wort it to use in my opinion.............

          OK, I find out this info, but he don't explain how to get this .reg file,
          that is the user post on NVIDIA forum:
          First you have to start your favorite 3D-game. then you have to switch with Alt+Tab to the desktop.
          Then you should have a registry file(*.reg) like this:
          Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

          [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D]
          "StereoAnaglyphType"=dword:00000000
          "LeftAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ffffff00
          "RightAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ff0000ff
          You have to write this settings to the registry(doubleclick the *.reg file).
          Then switch with ALT+Tab back to the game and it should be Yellow/Blue Anaglyph.

          The StereoAnaglyphType brings back the "full" color.
          And Left and RightAnaglyphFilter specifies the color of the glasses.

          "StereoAnaglyphType"=dword:00000000 = Full color
          "StereoAnaglyphType"=dword:00000001 = 3D Vision Discover Colors(half color with green/yellow tint)
          "StereoAnaglyphType"=dword:00000002 = black and white(greyscale)

          "LeftAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ffffff00
          "RightAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ff0000ff = Yellow/Blue

          "LeftAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ffff00ff
          "RightAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ff00ff00 = Magenta/Green

          "LeftAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ffff0000
          "RightAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ff00ffff = Red/Cyan

          but the problem at this point is I can't find the reg file that is talking about, any buddy know what is talking about?
          PLEASE, this thing is driving me crazy!!!!!!
          Stupid NVIDIA set to default half color mode, why they just don't add the option on NVcontrolpannel to sw between full color, half colors and leave the option to the users, the setting on NVcontrolpannel are too basic in my opinion.
