5 monitors with one GTX 285

I have one GTX 285 with dual dvi-d outputs. I am running one to my triple head to go adapter that runs 3 monitors at 5780x1080. I am running the other output to a single monitor. Questions: Are the dvi outputs each a dual dvi-d output? If it is, is there a cable that will let me run two monitors independently? I am ultimately trying to get 6 monitors from one computer. Thanks, Jeff

There are DVI monitor splitter cables, but I don't know how well they work. That second Amazon link review says what happens with cable splitters, you might not get separate independent signals accross the split, implying a $20 cable would do what your $200+ Triple head device does. Probably better off with another Triple-Head.

doesn't Nvidia's drivers still have temperature problems with 2 monitors on 1 card? I can only imagine how bad it would be if tried with 5

i think if you want 6 monitors your better off getting one of AMDs new graphics cards made for 6 monitors cause even if you was to be able to get 6 screens on your current rig the performance would not be there with the old 285 GPU

I resolved the issue and ended up with 6 monitors but had to add a 9800gtx card to do it: gtx 285 is driving matrox Triple head2go (3 monitors) and one individual monitor. 9800gtx is driving two seperate monitors. No duplicates. I am able to run 6 seperate monitors (full screen video on each one or 6 different anythings). I am running 6 loop videos all night to make sure I am not overloading anthing. I am going to work on x-plane tomorrow to see what I can do with the xtra monitors (panel and????. Thanks for the help, Jeff
