This is how the Quad SLI and the Preferred PhysX GPU can be setup via the drivers:

With a pair of GTX 295 RE's you have the ability to have these FSAA modes:

And since you do have 4 GPU's to your disposal, even being a Quad SLI setup, these are the Muli-GPU rendering modes you can choose from:

if you play modern games that support PhysX you may want to dedicate a single gpu for that.. (PPU).. ;)

        I love those red cards!!!

yeah well that is where I can use 3-GPU Alternate Frame Rendering modes 1 or 2 and set one GPU as the PPU.

At the moment GPU 2B is auto selected as the PPU, but I don't really understand if it only does PhysX standalone or would it also do a bit of the rendering with the other 3 GPU's as well?

Due to that, I always have wondered how this worked

            The new CPU's arrived today!

2x Six-Core AMD OpteronDP 2435 D0 Istanbuls, so here some sweet pics

            Top view:

            Tribute to 2CPU.com!

            The OpteronDP 2435 D0's installed:

            Speed : 2.60 GHz Count : 12

            BarsWF x64 with the Dual 6 Cores @ 12x 2.60Ghz + Hyper Transport 3.0 @ 2.4Ghz gave 443.87 MHash/sec:

            BarsWF with the Dual 4 Cores @ 8x 2.50Ghz + Hyper Transport 1.1 @ 1.0Ghz which was the old config only gave 270.70 MHash/sec

Unless it is marked as "dedicated" then it will do both rendering and PhysX.
If it is dedicated then the GPU will only work as a PPU. No rendering.

Something nice arrived today the Brandless Hard PCB SLI Bridge Connector, giving my Quad SLI setup this look:

The reason why I do this is so that it does not come in contact with the aluminum frame of the side fan, which is used to help the EVGA GTX 295 Red Editions get rid of their hot air they dispatch via their side exhausts:

As for the finishing touch? This Hard PCB SLI Bridge Connector also makes the cards sit firm together in Quad SLI mode, as being a firm connection between the two giving this the finishing touch of the Quad SLI setup for this system:

And here the final pics of the finished result so far

The system with the side window panel in place:

And the Entire setup it's self:

So far the only upgrade I plan on giving it, is another 4x 4096MB PC2-6400 ECC Reg Kingston value Ram, just to give it 2.67GB of ram per CPU Core, hereby exceeding the limit of 2GB per core

Hmm no red paint for me , the cards add enough red in it, they neutralize the effect as for sleeving too much work for me, I lack the patience sorry and I really don't want to break anything since this is something I worked on for a few years heh.

Here some work in progress to where 12 CPU cores can be very useful
Such as converting a raw AVI file to HD 1080p DivX Plus format with AC3 sound:

                                  Here's the result

As you can see the new Forceware 295.73 WHQL drivers aren't fun on Quad SLI GTX 295's, I went back to 285.62 WHQL and now it runs way better!

Oh they do man hehe it's the game I mostly play :)

Here's a 4 player nuke fest in Glory Hole an Earth Shaker map made by Gengi and inspired by me, I'm Blue_01 btw

And here a 7 player Beer Slide, no shakers here, there was one Mega Missile and everyone wanted it I was more of the Phoenix cannon guy you die a lot but you also make a lot of kills hehe, shame that I made the video only a mere 12 minutes of the 54 minute game run, this game was truly awesome:

The EVGA GTX 295 RE's always do great with my favorite game, just the combination of playing my favorite game with my favorite VGA cards, that's the idea actually, it's more about the likes of interest than the needs

So if you like Descent so much as I do, feel free to visit the Descent Task Force a League a firend of mine I founded last year on December 21, within 5 weeks we got like 41 people and that for a retro game liek Descent, kinda proves that it's still loved man Spread'n the luv for Descent man, it's what we do

Man I must say, for some red cards those things are sexy. I HATE/DESPISE the color red and even so I visit this thread daily just to check these babies out. I need to get over my color phobia and get me some red in my case.

Well I am not a fan of the color red myself, it just depends where it is placed and used on a red Ferrari looks best since it's the color a Ferrari should be, just my personal opinion there, also I understand your point there as the color red can go, but as a collector of various High End VGA cards which you can see here:
                                              http://www.3dfx.ch/galler...er/?g2_navId=xb0b685b1
Some thumbnails don't show up well, that was due to a server crash we had last year rofl.

These GTX 295 RE's really stand out amongst any other GeForce cards I ever seen. They stand out very well with this build, This way they give a very neutral effect all thanks to their Ferrari Red Paint and that in combination with the Blue & White CCFL's shining on them they make the picture complete

Them being Ferrari Red makes them look special, as they are special in the VGA card collector's world, they are 2 of 15 known in the world and as my collection goes, they were worth reobtaining even it took me a good 2 to 3 years to find them in the state they are now 100% complete with box and accessories

This way they are worth everything to me and by far the beautiful GeForce Cards I have ever seen, even that I like the GTX 480 also , it's looks make it look brutal, also it's crocodile amour makes it look unique as the red paint does with these GTX 295 RE's
