forrestang So... if you extract the .rar file and take the contents of that extracted folder, do you just drop them in the install folder? I.e. in the folder, there is a folder and some files. Do you just leave it like that and drop it in the folder? Then after that, should I go and turn off the AA settings in BF3? Yes and yes. Although the injector does work with AA in-game. You will get further edge smoothing at a cost to performance/fps.

Sceenshots don't do the FXAA injectior mod justice, you really have to see it in motion in a video or actually use it to see what its really capable of. like in Skyrim, once I set the sharpness to 1.00 in the config file, it makes everything so sparkly and much richer in color I see a huge difference when I hit the Pause key to compare it. the image is blurry and the colors are dull looking at default.

forrestang I'm not seeing any difference when I hit the pause/break key? Really? I do see a huge difference. My PAUSE button turns the injector off. I see the default blurriness. Great for viewing exactly how much sharper things get from the default. You could try changing the inFX_settings.h file. You can use OV3RCLK's settings. I like those. Although I didn't change #define TechniAmount 0.15 // 1.00 = Max. I like how this enhances the color. But really this is more fine tuning. You should be able to see the on/off difference with the PAUSE key. Look at the edges of a vehicle or shipping container on Khrag Island or Caspian. FXAA Injector ON, will smooth edges, sharpen texture detail and bump the color vibrance. This little tool is really quite something. It's customizable, less filling than in-game AA (cost to performance is lower) and the results are staggering!

Im Hit! OV3RCLK4 Try my settings. bool highQualitySharpen = 1 default is 0 #define SharpenEdge 0.8 default is 0.2 #define Sharpen_val0 2.0 default is 1.2 #define TechniAmount 0.0 default is 0.15 #define Gamma 1.0 default is 0.9 #define Saturation 0.2 default is 0.5 #define Bleach 0.00 default is 0.01 #define GreyPower 0 default is 1 float Sharpen = 0.20 default is 0.01 I don't like how the default settings over saturate the game with extra color. I also don't like how it changes the color tones and brightness with bleaching and gamma. The game has perfect color and brightness without any mods. So the settings above basically disable everything but the FXAA and Sharpening. I haven't played with the bloom settings yet. Those come disabled by default. edit... oh and you can press the Pause|Break key on your keyboard to turn the mod on and off to really compare the difference in-game. Your settings ROCK! Mostly. :P I kept #define TechniAmount at default 0.15. The difference is staggering. Now my game looks better than DICE-made gameplay videos. WOW!!! I'm about to try these exact settings with I'm hit's recommenddation about techniAmount being left at 0.15. Will report back shortly. Edit: ....wh....wha....words can't describe.....the beauty that BF3 has become now........ also pause break key does nothing for me either.

I just did it and did the settings above. I does make things much clearer. I was amazed. I did do a screenshot comparision myself and it didnt do the actual ingame justice. @Im Hit - so leaving techi amount at default works better for you? It gives it better color? Also I will try the in-game pause thing and see if that works.

Well the pause toggle thing didnt work for me. But I cant believe how much clearer it is now. It is almost like DICE purposely made it alittle blurry.

Been playing around with this myself and I do like how much sharper and clearer it makes everything but it also gives some objects a white border, like trees and fences. I'm sure playing with some of the settings will probably help.

Fraps takes better screenshots than Steam does, which is the overlay I use instead of ORIGIN (more friends on STEAM blah blah blah...) But really you have to play the game to see the and experience the difference. Screenshots show the sharpness to a degree. But you have feel that enhanced visibility and clarity. view distance is not increased, so much as it is more in focus with higher clarity. Its like putting on a pair of glasses you didn't know you needed.

If you want the MSI Afterburner OSD to work with the FXAA Injector Mod you need to do this: Open the MSI On-Screen Display Server program. Click the plus sign and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3\ and add BF3.exe Once you have that added go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\Bundle\OSDServer\Profiles Open BF3.exe.cfg in Notepad or Notepad++ Go down to the [Hooking] section and add this line: EnableDynamicOffsetDetection=1 It should look like this: [Hooking] EnableHooking=1 EnableFloatingInjectionAddress=1 EnableDynamicOffsetDetection=1 HookLoadLibrary=0 HookDirectDraw=1 HookDirect3D8=1 HookDirect3D9=1 HookDXGI=1 HookOpenGL=1

Used the FXAA injector, as well as OV3RCLK4's settings, and BF3 looks clearer/more vibrant. Only saw around a 8 fps drop.

How much of which is determined by how you adjust the FX settings. Open each one and then toggle between the two using Back and Forward on your web browser/mouse thumb buttons.

From all the screens I've come across they really don't do the mod any justice, must definitely be seen first hand.

The screens look just "ok" compared to the experience when playing. The game now looks like a moving versions of publisher-produced screenshots after they have received the touch-up and high resolution treatment for promotional purposes. And the performance hit is negligible.

OV3RCLK4 I can confirm it is working with MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 9 for both Skyrim and BF3 with FXAA Injector. Ill give it a go with precision and see what i can do. Please do, cause I cannot get it to work.

Wow, Precision sure has come a long way since I last used it. Voltage control and custom fan graph now. Afterburner is still always 1 step ahead though with Video capture now. I couldn't get the OSD to work with Precision. I tried a bunch of tricks but still nothing. Guess its back to Afterburner for me.

forrestang Im Hit! Concerned we broke your game. Did you get it working again. Should be no problem if you remove all FXAA Injector files. It's worth giving it a go, again. This is a fabulous tool! Yeah, I got it back up running, saved off my config files and re-installed that night. I haven't tried the mod since. Things like that never work when I try it. I need a ss of someone's install folder so I can see what I'm doing wrong. Here you go. Just highlight all the contents of the zip/.rar file (injFX older included) and drop them in the Battlefield 3 folder where the exe is.

I don't think the Afterburner voltage tuner works for 580 Classified.

Here are better results. I posted my screens to my Steam acct. They are the first 5 screens at the top. Now you can see them in full 2560x1600. Click "Full SIze" and then right-click to zoom if you are not using a 2560x1600 resolution and/or your browser is not full screen. Still the best representation is when the game is being played. But these are better than the ones I attached ^^ above.
