I'm afraid to go balls to the wall with the voltage to get 5GHz stable I can boot 5GHz at 1.4V (BIOS) but the load line calibration for vdroop is what I'm afraid of. I'll try it with HT disabled when I get home, didn't think of that. *EDIT* Meh..., don't wanna push it any further, I thought it would be easier than it is to get 5GHz. HT off, I can do 4.8GHz w/ 1.325V BIOS, 1.341V CPU-Z, 80C, but with 50x multi and 1.425V BIOS, temps get up to ~95C and LinX still errors out. Oh well.

10 runs of linx (20,000 problem size) completed at 5GHz on Z68 FTW + 2600K took hell of a vcore to complete it errorless, ended up using 1.530v vcore in BIOS without vdroop - however vcore was spiking up to 1.576v vcore under load as per cpu-z ... even my XSPC Raystorm block and RX240 rad were barely holding up at such volts ... Batch: # 3150B396 Cooling: XSPC 750 RX240 with Raystorm block.

5ghz pay no attention to coretemp it never relays the correct clocks or voltage. and the voltage is wrong in cpuz, the correct voltage is 1.43v. and temperature wise it could be better if i put the second fan back on my frio

Wow! This makes me want to go back and play around with my 2500k a bit more! I've just been running 4.5GHz, but maybe I should bump the voltage a bit more and see what happens. =) (under 1.4v now; it should get a little bit more from here!) Scary to see people pumping more than 1.5v into their cpus though!

Here's mine. Add me to the list! 2700K: 5.0ghz @ 1.48v. w/ HT 16GB (4x4) Vengeance @ 1866 XSPC Raystorm - RX360 Batch: 3201A468 (Yeah, it's a newborn 2700K) Looks like a couple of my cores are touching the low 80's but then again my room is ~ 80F. I've got some of that indigo xtreme/ maingear T1000 lquid metal TIM on its way and that'll probably drop my temps by a good 5-6C but honestly, I expected better from a 360mm radiator. On a different note, is there any reason why my time is slower than every else @ 5.0ghz? I seem to pull a relatively low Gflop and high calc time.

hey.. sorry i havn't kept this thing up to date mates!.. have been busy with my school and such and plainly forgot about the forums and all that until i thought about some overclocking yesterday.. i will update this thread tomorrow when i wake up! :).. but i have thought about doing something.. because while it is impressive to go 5+Ghz, all the new chips are able to right?.. all the new 3k series too?.. or is it me that have been told incorrectly?..
Sig has been messed up.. and was kinda old.. Currently working on a new one..

Okay, then we should keep this alive.. because as far as the rumors i have heard, Intel will remove overclocking possibilities in future CPU's.. that means that 5+Ghz would still be something nice and amazing.. but nice to know about the ivy bridge.. i for one thought that 5+ghz was just as easy with ivy bridge as with sandy bridge :).. how to they perform compared when overclocked?.. because if at the same cooling solution (h60) on the 3550k you would only be able to go to 4.6ghz or something, a 2500k at 5.1ghz would have an advantage of 500 mhz.. that to me, seems to be a lot when talking about the same stock speed?..

1155 ivy bridge are +5-7% better performers when compared clock to clock with 1155 sandy bridge. so 5GHz on sandy bridge equals to around 4.7-4.8GHz on IB chip also hitting a 5GHz clock on 1155 IB chip requires a solid & custom water cooling, YMMV depending on how lucky one was in chip purchase (aka lottery).
