9800gtx+ and gts250 sli

Why did they have to make memory speed an issue with sli'ing 250/9800GTX+
My 9800GTX+    756 gpu, 1836 shader and 2246 memory only difference is memory speed, lousy 46mhz. The only other 9800GTX+ I can get is clocked lower all-around  675 gpu, 1792 shader and 2200 memory.  The GTS250 I was looking at 756 gpu, 1836 shader and 2200 memory. Lousy 46MHz.

I sli'd 2 7900GS's with diiferent manufacturer, gpu and memory clock.  I thought as long as same gpu clock speeds didn't matter with the newer drivers.


Is there any way I can flash video card bios or edit it to get my memory clock to 2200 from 2246?
I want to sli these cards and 46 mhz just seems like minor issue to me.

It's a completely different system than what my signature states. I still have that system but I have another AM2+ quad system as well.

Memory speed is not the issue. You can't SLI 2 different GPU based cards. If you have 2 like gpu cards with different clocks then what ever card you have as the primary then those will be the clocks used when in sli mode.

I just read sticky and you CAN sli 9800GTX+ and GTS250 but gpu and memory speeds must be same. Both based on same gpu.

Is the mem. and gpu speed a G92 thing??  I use a couple of GTX280's with different clocks with no problems.
Besides, can't you just DL precision and clock both cards to the same numbers?

   The 9800GTX+ and the GTS250 are the same GPU.
   And viewed with precision my clock speeds do not change unless I click the sync button.

in the 9 series forum, they have a, what card do you run forum. halfway down the page, one guy has a gts250 sli'd with a 9800gtx
