The proper way to answer is that as long as you stay with that 1366x768 LCD HDTV, you will not see much performance gain by investing n a GPU. You will see some gain but that gain will increase with higher resolution. At this point, you should be getting satisfactory FPS in all games as a GTX260 is very powerful at that resolution.

For better gaming experience, get a 2560x1600 monitor and invest in a next gen GPU... Later, you may think about a total system overhaul

MY LCD TV supports Res. up to 1900 x 1200 , but later will try to get my hands on a monitor that supports higher resolutions....thanks for the reply.....

Gonna have to disagree guys. He probably just bought that Phenom 2, no sense in ditching it and buying a brand new i7 set up. His Phenom 2 @ 3.8Ghz is going to be very similar in performance to an intel Q9450 or above at 3.8Ghz. You can't tell me that processor is going to bottleneck a single 5850, hell it wouldn't even be that big of a bottleneck on 2 5850's in crossfire! This being an EVGA forum I expect some bias, but you cant be telling people to go buy an EVGA P55 or X58 when he has a brand new AMD system.

The 5850 would be fine in your system, there is NO reason to go spend 700+ on a brand new processor, motherboard and RAM when you just bought new stuff under 10 months ago.

OOhhhh..... Thanks for clearing that out for me...... I have like 4 to 5 month that bought my parts.. i assumed that my phenom will not be a bottleneck but wanted to be sure......Anyways, rjohnson11 and outlawii thanks for the reply.

I have to agree with rjohnson , you probably wont see a whole lot of difference by just upgrading ur card, dont know much about amd but it might bottleneck a 5850 or any other high end card. Good luck!

Looking at your current setup I think the first thing you should do if you want a performance upgrade is a new CPU, memory, and processor. If you want great performance then an EVGA x58 series motherboard. If you still want great performance but save some money then an EVGA P55 based motherboard would also be great.

Hello Everyone...

I am thinking on upgrading my GPU.without breaking the bank.. So i have been looking at the ati 5850 and it seems like a very goog deal.... what do you people think.. I currently have the evga GTX 260 Core 192.....

Another thing.. could i use an nvidia card as dedicated physics with an ati as my primary card.
