(BuRYGnome)

I think I have solved my problem.

boot.ini - /3GB switch - I disabled it. Yesterday didn't have any crash. I will test today to confirm it :)

EDIT: Yes, the /3GB Switch in boot.ini were causing all my gfx problems. I totally forgot I enabled it for SolidWorks test that day. I enabled it again few days at desktop at office and that change totally crashed that PC. I had to recover the file because normally I couldn't do it on the same PC - it was so messed up. After recovering comp started to work again just fine. After that I checked my boot.ini.
Re:GF9800GTX weird problem. Then I replaced it with a new one, which works fine right now.

Re:GF9800GTX weird problem. (BuRYGnome)

 /bump

New info i Noticed. Now it seems like 2D faling works separate with 3D failing. I can play game normally but every 2D thing on my desktop it seems to be failing. Usually it both went down at the same time :/

Any thoughts?
Re:GF9800GTX weird problem. (BuRYGnome)

I switched PCI-E cables and played whole day without any problem. When I finally thought the problem is fixed it got borked in the very same moment as always. I don't know what else can I do :/
Re:GF9800GTX weird problem. (jeffreynellie)

 I have two issues,
first: sound has gone all static, I have usb headphones (that work perfect on my other computer) all usb ports are affected.

second when i play WOW, i get horrible lag in all situations. down to 3FPS.
of course I've downloaded all updated drivers.

MB: evga x58sli
VC: evga gtx9800
RAM: 3x1024 1600 OCZ Gold
cpu: i7 2.66
OS: windows 7
PS: 750
Re:GF9800GTX weird problem. (BuRYGnome)

 Hello again.

Thank you for your anwsers :)

@rjohnson11
What does that would change? I mean, other DVI connector? My game screen only freez. Rest of desktop is active and I can do other stuff. The weird thing is. When I move my mouse in World of Warcraf when all graphics start to fade away there is an angle on which everything comes back. When I set that angle and close game. Then run again everything works fine. But when I get freez while everything already fade away then I can't:
- Watch pictures with IrfanView (I have all black blocks)
- Can't watch movies (They run with black screen)
- My dekstop wallpaper is gone
- Most of web graphics on sites is gone.

Only restart here helps. What with the switching PCI-E cables would do?
Also, I think I didn't register it. I live in Europe(Poland). I still have whole box and all stuff inside. I bought it like year ago.

@wlaliberte
I moved my CASE few times in past. I know how to deal with it :) Everything is fine. Pluged and working. Nothing snaped off.

The new thing i discovered. When I had this issue. I tried to change refresh rate of my monitor. From 60Hz to 72Hz. Then my whole screen got locked along with PC. Hard Restart. Seems like 2D/3D modules seems to be getting broken. I played since morning yesterday. Everything was fine till evening when I thought *damn, it fixed itself - yay \o/* and right after that thought if started to fade textures in my game. :/

I tried diff drivers etc. Nothing helped for the long road.

Re:GF9800GTX weird problem. (wlaliberte)

welcome Burygnome If you ship or move a pc in a car you have to make sure that you lay it down because of the weight of the card or cards. thay can brake off in the pci slot if you hit a bump.A lot of pc supplyers found that out the hard way ups and fedex was tuff on the boxs in shipping.can you take a better look inside and make sure that all your plug and play hard ware is snapped in place memory ect.good luck

Re:GF9800GTX weird problem. (rjohnson11)

Swap out the PCi-E cables with two others. Your TX750 Corsair PSU has four PCI-E cables I believe. Also try the second DVI output connector. Did you register your video card and do you reside in the USA, Europe, or another country?

[Solved] GF9800GTX weird problem. (BuRYGnome)

 Hello there.

It's my first post in here and my english ain't good so please, don't stone me :P

It all happend when I took my machine to work. I put it in car and drove 60km (both sides). At work I installed there only SW2008SP5. When I came back home after some time when I was playing World of Warcraft my graphic from screen started to vanishing. Few things like user interface, then some textures and at the end all was gone. I close game - run again. right away after runing i had like 4fps. After restart I played some time again and after 1-2h i got my screen frozen. Only the game screen (I play in windowed mode). I've heard sounds of my actions but I couldn't see anything. Closing game and runing didn't help. I got weird Artefacts. Sometimes it happens when i browse web pages. I'm starting to lose background graphic and when i minimize everything my desktop lose wallpaper :/

My Comp:
CPU: i7 920
MB: Asus P6t Deluxe
RAM: 3x1024 1600 OCZ Gold
GFX: EVGA GF9800GTX
PSU: Corsair 750W

Facts:
- When first time i've seen that i opened case and took out Card and put it back to make sure everything is fine after the trip in car.
- Card was never overclocked
- Card is not overheating.
- Tried newest drivers, didn't help
- only system restart helps (sometimes even after restart it freez/crash/artiface right away)

Do you have any idea from where this might come up?
