(bummerman)

well, I installed 301.44 drivers-my voltage works-Battlefield3 gets 130fps full ultra settings in the tank in the desert and great card usage-Crysis still sucks and Crysis 2 is ok, not great. With my overclock, I 'm staying under 70 is +88-+188-Heaven improved some-the 304.79 was the 1st driver I tried and that wasn't great- I'm gonna wait for their next release unless someone gives me a good reason not to . This is all in multi monitor-3844-1920 resolution. I don't think the memory should be a big deal if I can get the card usage up (my resolution isn't all that high). What would I be looking for as far as cpu usage-I do have it clocked to lower the load automatically if not needed . Also, Deus ex revolution won't play at all, it is a small box that won't allow me to change the resolution . Oh, heaven is full usage now-running 30 fps higher or more than last night. 1st scene, I am pushing 100 fps with normal tessalation and no AA . Wow, redid 3d mark 11 in multimonitor-performance
  http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3992170
Re:just went 690 quad! (ssj92)

No need for the sli enhancement patch, just get the 304.79 drivers. Also get rid of the overclock and make sure the cards stay below 70C. Next, try and see what your cpu usage is.
Re:just went 690 quad! (bummerman)

SLI enhancement patch?- I can't seem to adjust the voltage in precision but my temps have been great-the room is well air donditioned and the half case is excellent and there is room between the two cards

Re:just went 690 quad! (LarsV)

Do you get high temps while gaming for 30 minutes or so? Cause my quad sli temps seem to jump from 40 to 80 degrees pretty quick, and the airflow in my pc case is decent.

Re:just went 690 quad! (CAxVIPER)

bummerman

Maybe later!

OK, your Crysis 2 fps seems low for 2 690. I know it is hard to get the FPS to go very high but that just seems extremely low for what you are running. I kinda have to assume the mutli monitor problem is due to a lack of VRAM but I've never bothered to look up how VRAM works in SLI. I just know it doesn't stack so you are still limited to 2gb per GPU.
Re:just went 690 quad! (bummerman)

oh, one more thing, I got the Asus board that has nf200 so you can get 16x for the lanes. Anyway, the cards were no problem staying under 70 degrees with a modest overclock. Also , I am using 304.48 drivers and for some reason my voltage adjustment doesn't take in precision x. Any ideas?
just went 690 quad! (bummerman)

So, I got my 2nd 690 yesterday, and I immediately installed it onto my multi monitored Z_77-3770k computer. For 6 hours it was pretty disappointing as the per card usage for many of the games was poor (crysis-about 70% and poor performance at a less than native resolution of 3365-1680). Crysis 2 performed slightly better but I feel if I could get 90% card usage on all 4, I would be purring at 3855-1920-ultra settings. As is, the fps is about 50 or so.Scoring 3d mark 11 with tri monitor setup on "performance" score 24, 000, I think, and ,on extreme ,about 7500. Though buggy, I got Alan Wake eventually to max out card usage at full native portrait resolution. Unreal Tournament 3 also, did ok and Battlefield. 3 improved from just one card but not as much as it could with card usage at 75 to 80%.
Then I hooked up my 2560-1600 monitor and it was much better. I knew to expect a 3d mark 11 performance score of over 30,000 and i got 33,000 and extreme , I got 11,500. One score that surprised me was Vantage extreme, customized to 2560-1600. I got 35,000 and standard extreme I got 48,500.
Bottom line is that quad seems to be doing fine in the single monitor setup but a long way from game ready on multi monitor. Is that what you guys see as well?
