Maybe even send in a support ticket to Nvidia. That way at least they're aware, if they aren't already, that a problem exists with the game.
Re:I have a question about SLI (Rosicross)

Gezzer...its just a couple games and they are new and I think you are right that its probably just the games...I don't have the issue in any "older" games.
Re:I have a question about SLI (Gezzer)

Is it just one game or all your games?
And doesn't both SLI/Xfire use special application files for enabling multi-GPU for a game?
Don't quote me on this but I've heard that some games are sometimes supported, but not very well, so you need to wait for a better profile from Nvidia/ATI.
Might be your problem.
Re:I have a question about SLI (Rosicross)

Still having the issue. Actually, if anything, its become more bizarre to me. So adaptive v-sync is not enabled. Unless it is doing it in the background, without being enabled, which then I would wonder why some games have the issue and some don't.

Also, if I run the games from just one card whether it be SLI disabled or enabled but only playing on one monitor, the single GPU that it is running on runs how you would expect. The game doesn't lag, and the card is used at 90%+...but in 3 monitor mode, the cards drop to 60-70% usage and FPS drops in certain areas.

Its like the cards lower performance when they are needed most. Almost like down clocking....but they don't down clock. They just don't get utilized all the way.
Re:I have a question about SLI (kmconstable)

I just know nvidia have admitted adaptive vsync is not working yet. So enabling it might cause op's issue.

Re:I have a question about SLI (rapture88)

I wouldn't throw out the adaptive vsync, but the only thing I've heard about adaptive vsync is microstuttering still. Any progress on the issue? I'm rather curious myself even though I dont have the problem.
Re:I have a question about SLI (kmconstable)

Could adaptive vsync cause this issue?
Re:I have a question about SLI (rapture88)

I had something similar happen to me upon adding a 2nd 680. What fixed my problem was checking my SLI bridges. Triple checking that nothing was getting caught between the pins. I cleaned them off even if it didn't look like there was anything on them. or in the bridge itself.

Not saying this is the problem entirely, just something that I had come across with abnormal frames sporadically.
Re:I have a question about SLI (Rosicross)

Intimidator, let me know if your reimage solves anything. I did a reimage and it didn't seem to do anything.

I did find out something else that is odd. I reduced the settings in game, and the game was running fine. Tabbed out to see the log, and it said that both GPUs were now running near 100% (like 92-97%) and FPS were steady at 90+

Odd the GPUs would work at a higher level with a lower setting but under high settings it was operating at a lower capacity.

But I think you might be right that it is a driver issue. But I have no proof of that. All my games run fine but 2 of them.
At least I am not the only one. Same thing is happening to me. I have the following:

Asus Rampage IV Extreme
3930K CPU
32MB Corsair Vengence RAM
3-WAY SLI GTX 680 on 3 Samsung T260
2X120GB Agility 3 SSD in Raid 0
Thermaltake TP 1500W PSU
Windows 7 64 Ultimate

This is starting to look driver related. First, the GPU's are cool and no where near over heating. However, I can play BF3 with Vsync and 59.94 Hz on Ultra and it is very smooth and pegged on 60FPS. It will be fine for a map or two, then suddenly in the middle of a round, it dips below 50 FPS and continues. I can get out, restart the game and it is still below 50FPS. Reboot - same results. I can run 3DMark 11 and it consistantly will run P22000+ but go back to BF3 and below 50 FPS. If I then uninstall the drivers, reboot and reinstall the drivers (I have tried all releases from 300.83 all the way to current) and go back to BF3 after reinstall and once again runs flawlessly smooth. I have also uninstalled BF3 and reinstalled with the same results. It can run for hours sometimes, but the sudden drop in frames always comes back eventually and the only way to fix is to uninstall/reinstall the driver. I am going try a manual reset of DirectX next via registry because I noticed this first starting right after I loaded COD Black Ops as it loads DirectX drivers in the middle of the install. ...and I have had this problem surface ever since. As Rosi said, the performance log stays steady, but I did notice something and I do not know if it is normal...the GPU power % seems to read very sporatic compared to all other performance readings. Anyone know if that is normal? I'll continue testing and report back... If I don't find any resolution, I may just reimage/reload Windows 7 et al and start over again...and not load Black Ops again...just BF3. I have 3 27inch 120hz monitors. VRAM stays in the range I mentioned above the entire time...not just when it lags.

I was just playing and the game was moving along at 90-100fps, then dropped to 30...dropped out of game, and gpu usage on both cards was close and stayed in the 65-70% usage range.

Temps never go above 37c under max load after playing for hours. I have water cooling on both cards.

So yea, I guess it could just be the game...but seems odd.

Oh yea and the clock stays stable according to Afterburner....doesn't down clock during that time.

Just seems strange that the usage is not close to 100% but yet the fps drops. Just thought maybe it was something I am missing and could be corrected.

If it is just the game, not much I can do about it.
Re:I have a question about SLI (lehpron)

You say when it lags your Vram usage is around 900MB? What about when it isn't lagging? Random lags happen, especially if it is an online game so it could be related to the game server. If your graphics cards get too hot they may downclock and maybe you see lag that way. If you think your Vram usage is low, up the resolution, which will make your frame rates drop.

What is your current resolution anyway?
I have a question about SLI (Rosicross)

So I have some games that I play that only use 50-60% of my GPU but frame rates lag sometimes and drop down to 30-40fps (most games I play are over 100). I don't really care what the frame rate is as long as it doesn't lag.

when it starts to do that I have started tabbing out to see where the GPU usage is sitting and its usually around 50-60% on both GPU. VRAM is only at 800-900 steady...

So what could be the cause of this and how do I fix it?
