(mjhubbard)

Very intelligence and well researched addition. Thank you for that insight.

A person can apprecaite and be very thankfull for a great program like step up, and still offer advice on how it might be improved. Just because some one points out that something might be a little ineffiaint does not mean he is a jerk trying to start a holy war on EVGA and should not be treated as such.
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (CyberstormXIII)

 Hello again ;-)

The Full ASUS ARS program (5 pages) attached here, so people can see how ASUS does at least for the RMA service. Should be convincing enough, especially, with the SR-X manual's page 5 in mind as well ;-) - again, that's just in my humble opinion.

Best regards : CyberstormXIII
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (CyberstormXIII)

 OP and mjhubbard are correct.

1.) Its a discussion forum
2.) Those who tell "it's in the FAQ" are exactly those people who accept the state of things without complaining even if it is annoying or worse - It would be similar in saying, (In the 18th century) "Women and colored people do not have the right to vote, because that's the way it has always been" - please wake up - Things are meant to change - and the only way they do change is to make the people responsible aware, that it is an actual problem.
3.) repeating a point three times does not make it right
4.) Other vendors DO use Cross-shipping (maybe not on a step-up program but on RMA), e.g. ASUS have Cross shipping via their ASUS Advanced Return Service - and it really is a necessity for Motherboards - if you have a company using a server, and some minor part stops working on the motherboard (but it otherwise still works), you cant just shut down the system, and send in the bad part and wait for the replacement.

Attached a Scan of the ASUS ARS folder provided with the ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS board - and considering that a SR-X for example is in the same highest end class, the same should go for that, imho - even high end graphics cards should be included.

Anyways, keep the discussion open - don't try to close it down because you don't agree or think its pointless. Rules are only rules, until they are changed, which, in the historical perspective happens more often than you would think.

Best regards : CyberstormXIII
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (mjhubbard)

Oh, and arn't forums for discussion? Cant we discuss something without some one saying "your question is pointless, go read the FAQ" if the FAQs answered all questions, we would not have forums.
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (mjhubbard)

Wow, I cant believe the snobishness of some of the people here.
All this guy did was bring up a valid idea that makes perfect sense. Verizon does this when you have to get a replacement phone already, so you are not left without a phone. What is the big deal with makeing a recomendation or asking for clarification. "EVGA is the best, and they know whats best, and it cant possibly be improved upon" It is not like the OP came in here saying "STEP UP SUCKS I WANT MY CARD....". Those of you lecuring the OP, go get a life.
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (xendrome)

As was your creation of this thread.. The Step-Up FAQ answers all of your questions.
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (xendrome)

Hopefully they don't, because you don't deserve any special treatment any more then the rest of us do. And all of the information is online in the Step-Up FAQ, so posting this was pointless anyway.
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (boogeyman)

 Thanks feniks.

I'll wait a few more days and see if someone from EVGA responds before I contact them. I might be able to smooze them into doing it. :D
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (feniks)

no, there is no cross shipping on Step Up products. for some reason they do not want to do this. I agree that if credit card was used it would be safe for them (they keep the charge if someone sent them garbage) and customer would have MUCH less downtime.

Lack of Step Up cross shipping is not a big of a deal with video cards (easy to swap temporarily), but it is a problem with the MB Step Up ...
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (boogeyman)

 1) Who's complaining, it's a question.
2) Please don't lecture me.
3) I owned/own multiple EVGA products for many years, I know their reputation.
4) I rarely if ever read this forum area.
5) Where is that ignore button?
Re:Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (pcmaster00)

Seriously..... This comes up about once every couple months.

1st off, EVGA one of the only (if not the only) company that still offers a program like this.
2nd, competitor programs that have been out there have devalued the product you are trading in so that you do not get back whatever your retailer charged you for the product. Think about this... Say EVGA charged your retailer $200 for a product and they charged you $250. EVGA is eating that extra $50.
3rd, again... no one else offers a program like this.
4th, EVGA even offers a sort of PreOrder program with the Step Up. When brand new products are released, supplies are limited. Yet they let you remain in a queue until the product is available to you even though you may be way beyond 90 days by the time your turn comes up (further devaluation that EVGA eats).
5th, again again... no one else offered a program like this!!!!!!

To all those out there that still want to complain about the EVGA Step Up Program, my advice to you is to think about trying to return your EVGA product 90 days after purchase to your retailer for a refund so that you can go and buy the latest product (if they have it). Most retailers only have a 30 day return window. A lot have a restocking fee when it comes to electronics. Some only exchange a defective product for the same model product. EVGA is giving you an incredible value, so think before you complain.
Question on "Does EVGA offer cross ship the StepUp program?" (boogeyman)

EVGA does not currently offer any form of cross ship for the StepUp program or any upgrade promotions

So even if I give a CC to temporarily charge a GTX680 to when it ships, EVGA still will not do this?

By doing so EVGA has no risk. If they do not receive my card within X days after the step up card shipped, they can charge my CC. I have done this transaction several times with other vendors and am curious why EVGA doesn't do it. It will prevent any downtime on my PC. It's a win-win.

If I receive no comment I will contact EVGA directly then.

Thanks
