Yeah I pretty much always use a Xbox 360 controller with racing games on the PC, easier to steer and throttle/brake. I want a wheel but I couldnt justify the cost.

I've never played a racing game on PC. Is it any good with keyboard and mouse or is a racing wheel a must?

I can't see mouse and keyboard working in a racing game. How would you manage throttle? You'd only be able to floor it or not move at all. Then again, maybe that's how arcade racing games work. I don't really know, I haven't played one for ages. I'm tired of all this Need For Speed stuff, what we need on PC is something very much like Forza and Gran Turismo.

There's a bunch of low profile racing sims out there on PC like Live for Speed.

Forza and Gran Turismo aren't racing sims though, they're driving sims with a mixture of real racing events and fake ones (plus Rally in GT). They have hundreds of production cars with lots of tuning and customizing, so just about everyone can enjoy it, whether you prefer drag racing, drifting, showing off, classic race cars, modern race cars, classic or modern production cars, etc. /myofftopic

If it's arcadey like NFS World / Dirt, the keyboard works fine. However, if it's like TDU 1 and 2, NFS Shift series, a racing wheel is a plus. And, if it's a true simulator, a racing wheel is a must.

I'll be buying this if
1) It has a good soundtrack like the first one, click pow nine thou, I am rock, the original had a tracklist I'd describe as transcendant.

2) It features car customization, this has been sorely lacking in the criterion need for speed games, and it's one of the pillars of design in most wanted. Without customization, it isn't most wanted.

3) The visual asthetic is intact, I spent a good deal of my early life in the pacific northwest and california, the sepia toned perpetual sunset world of most wanted perfectly reflected the visual experience of running around on roads out there, without the traffic.

4) The police battles can still drag out for an excessively long time, and use ridiculous numbers, rather than, for lack of a better term "crash spounge" enemies. Most wanted was vastly superior to carbon, despite being exceptionally similar because of this.
5) The game goes back to having a couple notable, really easy to dislike villans, like razor and the police chief who keys the crap out of your ride in the opening cinematic. I had piss and vinegar in my veins for both those guys the entire game. Talk about emotional investment in a story.

I will absolutely not buy this game if it features a 30 frame per second cap like the last NFS title. This is the one, single game that EA could make me install origin for, provided it is true to the most wanted moniker. For my money, I seriously doubt it will be.

NFS:MW was the best of the entire series, it was downhill after as the cop AI was never close to being what it was in MW

So now they aren't even going to screw around, they are going to use the exact same name as when it was last good. NFS: MW 2012 it is.

The cop AI looks smart and persistent once again, excellent. I'll be optimistic about the game and hope there will be Hshifter, wheel & proper triple screen support for PC. It's a 4sure sale if it has that.

Most Wanted was one of my favorite racing games of all time. I dropped everything when i saw it come on TV. Looks like its actually staying to its roots too. Cant Wait!

Combing my favorite NFS game with the Burnout series, looks awesome!!! Coming out Oct. 30 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
