Should i place padding inside the machine as a precaution, or would it fine without it. UPS stated that the system would be marked as fragile, and shipped from the UK to Dubai within 3 Days max, as they provide customs checks etc.
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (PanzerMensch)

MSim

I would drain it to be safe and add extra padding inside the case to help support gpu. You might think about writing on the outside of the box "fragile handle with care".

Anything heavy inside the case you want to make sure it's supported.

+1 ... support the gpu! and anything else that is heavy. A GPU with a heavy block can snap off or even snap the pci-e slot right off a motherboard. I know someone who has had this happen to them when shipping a water cooled system. Said it was like a wrecking ball
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (loveha)

I would drain it BUT when I moved from main land Japan to North Carolina I left the water in my system. Nothing leaked or broke in my system at all. I just wrapped it in bubble wrap two to three times and got a very sturdy box. Although I didn't mail it, a moving company did the shipping, which of course takes time. It is safer than mailing though. Depends on how safe you want it to arrive.
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (angelous86)

 Hi,

thank you all for you input, like I said in my original post, it was a stupid question to ask.

UPS are charging me a little over 350 pounds sterling, for overnight shipping with all the customs and surcharge fees, also I requested that upon delivery it needed to have an authorized signature, from me. I'm having it shipped from London, UK, to Dubai.

Once again thanks for the advice.
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (seth89)

 get a "tip n tell" from ups/fedex
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (Kanti)

Mailing it with liquid intact would be Dubaious indeed.
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (jlee2448)

I would drain just to be safe. I would probably pull the graphic card(s) out also. BTW how does that cost? It sounds expensive.
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (Xtrem)

Definitely drain it, you can't risk anything leaking during shipping. You should have the liquid in a separate package/bottle
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (MSim)

I would drain it to be safe and add extra padding inside the case to help support gpu. You might think about writing on the outside of the box "fragile handle with care".

Anything heavy inside the case you want to make sure it's supported.
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (huf757)

Drain it. I have shipped a system to west coast from east coast with a h-50 in it full intact and mounted to cpu since back then I didn't keep the original boxes (it made the trip fine)all I did for 5 days was worry worry worry and I couldn't drain that. Custom though drain it.
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (voodoo do-er)

 by
Re:Shipping a Liquid Cooled System (HeThing)

I would drain it.. Or can i leave the liquid in the system.????

Regards

Angelous
