It's primary use was to support new CPUs, but the code for that turned out to be flawed and was updated in subsequent versions. You would be making a big mistake to use it. Use the newest, 82, it is on the sticky at the beginning of this forum - for good reason.
Re:EVGA X58 LE (E757) - BIOS 44 Released (CraptacularOne)

Why did you resurrect this thread with an outdated bios? Setting are the same. I even tried tweaking the voltages higher. Very strange.

Not sure I will bother flashing back to the prior version tho. I am planning to upgrade to the 6 core i9 when it comes out in March and apparently we need this version to support the 6 core chips.

Bummer tho.

Did you flash with your overclock or back at stock?

I flashed with the OC setting.

After the flash the bios was back at the default settings ( which is what usually happens). So I had to put everything back the way it was. ( I had written the settings down ). I keep the bios settings at a 3.5 OC. I have an EVGA E-Leet profile for a 4.0 OC and 4.2 OC.

Those no longer work. I was able to loosen the memory settings to get back to 4.0 OC stable. Haven't had the time to play around with getting higher than that.

This is the first time I have ever had an issue like this after a bios upgrade.

Re:EVGA X58 LE (E757) - BIOS 44 Released (Choppah4)

wolf-man

Hi everyone,
I hate to be negative on my first post but this BIOS update still didn't fix known problem with USB locking up when thumb drive is plugged in and in my case recognizes 1600 DDR3 ram as 1066 which is not that big of deal. Does anyone have any idea when USB issue will be fixed or do I need to RMA motherboard?
Just an FYI if I plug in thumb drive in add on USB card system does not lock up.

Thanks

Your 1600 DDR3 will show as 1067 in the Memory settings. It is Tri-Channel memory, so 1067 x 3 = 3200, which is your Uncore frequency, divide that by 2 and you have your 1600MHz DDR3 Memory running correctly in Tri-Channel. As far as the Thumb drive, it may be running an older file system like FAT or FAT16, FAT32... If you're using Vista or especially Windows 7 in 64-bit you want to make sure everything is NTFS. I have 6 thumb drives I've hooked up between this version and the previous BIOS version, none had any problems. Food for thought I guess.

Re:EVGA X58 LE (E757) - BIOS 44 Released (wolf-man)

 Hi everyone,
I hate to be negative on my first post but this BIOS update still didn't fix known problem with USB locking up when thumb drive is plugged in and in my case recognizes 1600 DDR3 ram as 1066 which is not that big of deal.

I'm not sure about bousfield but I flashed at stock bios settings (i just hit load defaults)
Re:EVGA X58 LE (E757) - BIOS 44 Released (ChazLepineTheUSMarine)

I have the EVGA X58 classified board. I was wondering since the 285 classified GPU's are sold out. If I buy 4 295 SC COOP cards, since they are only 2 way SLI, can I hook up a 2x2 system? What I mean by 2x2 is have 2 sets of SLI connected 295's. Will there be any downfall if it does work?

Re:EVGA X58 LE (E757) - BIOS 44 Released (kellygtp)

bousfieldj

I have the same issue.

I was stable at 4.2

After flashing this bios - I can no longer go past 3.7.
