If this is true I cannot believe EVGA would make a change like this and not document it in the changelog! I was adding 100 more mv to the VTT and not even knowing that it is happening?? Come on now! This is unacceptable, especially since how criticical this voltage is to stability.

Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 BETA Released (dwillingm)

This BIOS isnt working too well for me. With SZ2X bios, sleep mode works perfectly. With this bios, when I wake up from sleep, my CAS latency changes to 19.

Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 BETA Released (tehHooligan)

i'm having problems with my dimms. I have had them overclocked (technically) to 1600 MHz and 7-8-7-20 for the last year in my board with various bios versions (dominator rated xmp 1600 8-8-8-24) After flashing to this bios, though, the memory will run at 1600 but only one stick is recognized. So I was lagging like crazy and had no idea what was up until I saw that I was using 99% of my ram. not good. Usually I use no more than 60% with the full 6GB, but I only have 2 now. Any ideas? I've been messing around and after I cleared cmos it saw the full 6GB. I'll be tinkering more and post whats up.

on an unrelated note my usb G15 keyboard used to work fine through the bios and now I have to break out my PS2 keyboard. Strange because it works at first to call up setup or the boot drive menu but doesn't work after or to tell windows what mode to boot in after a hard shut down. It's running through a usb hub on my monitor but that has never been an issue. ?

EDIT:
Sorry guys, should have read the whole thread. Someone else had the same issue. Solution: the OC presets from old bios versions arent quite compatible with this new bios version. Clear CMOS and then reset everything manually. And read the whole post before you post :)

USB keyboard issue still eludes me though. It works to call up a menu at first but doesnt work at all after that. If this is just me if might be because it's running though a hub. No idea. PS2 keyboard is always at hand at any rate.
Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 Released (wxchaser)

 Incorrect post (E760 owner).

Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 Released (ShockTheMonky)

You've never flashed your bios before have you? Just mulling over going back to the old BIOS, or sticking with SZ44 but sacrificing 0.2GHz on the CPU, while retaining a relatively safe voltage level so my CPU lasts longer... or of course I could throw caution to the wind and slam the voltage through the roof for a higher clock.. LOL.. that can become an expensive activity though.

Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 BETA Released (Nereus)

Yeah I saw that thanks, and had it turned off (also have 'normal' turbo disabled). I previously had a very stable 3.8GHz o/c on a C0 stepping i7-920 at CPU VCore of 1.35V and CPU VTT of +225mV on the SZ2R BIOS. Now I've got the 44 BIOS and I am still hitting 101 BSOD's at a CPU VCore of 1.4V and CPU VTT of +250mV with everything else the same.. this is insane.. RAM is running at stock spec only...

I recently moved to Windows7 64-bit (from Vista64), and more recently moved to a SSD for the boot drive, but that should not make this much difference, if any.. I just can't get a stable clock anywhere above 3.4-3.5GHz... wondering if I should flash back to SZ2R again.

Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 BETA Released (bnaert)

Turning Turbo Performance on caused my previously stable OC to BSOD 124 as soon as windows started. This will destabilize some machines because higher VTT some times leads to instability. May be this was the cause of my recent lockup...[:-(]

I am hating Evga for not doing a good job with BIOS releases and not fixing serious issues.

This is where I read this: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=176541

I have not seen anyone confirm this from EVGA, but I agree that if it was indeed changed it should have been documented. Since this thread is more read, maybe others will chime in on whether the Vtt changed for them. I have yet to upgrade to this BIOS. I am just not sure I would gain anything.

Just flashed to 44, and yes, with CMOS cleared / BIOS reset to defaults, although E-leet shows 1.1V on the 'Voltages' tab, the 'Monitoring' tab shows CPU VTT as 1.2V, as does Everest Ultimate.

Now I need to start clocking from scratch, but I'm too damn tired lol.

Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 BETA Released (d.burnette)

I knew going in that getting a 758 board that would succesfully sleep would probably be a crap shoot.
But that is not a deal breaker for me - the advantages of this mb far outweight the disadvantage of not being able to sleep it , at least for me personally.
I did get a revision 1.1 758 board, and was hopefully mine would sleep successfully, but it was not to be. It will for 3 or 4 times sometimes, then boom major freeze or bsod. May be related to my X-Fi soundcard drivers, I have read they have caused sleep issues, but who knows.
Sleep just ain't that important for me, and thankfully Windows 7 is pretty darn quick on booting up.
Other than the sleep issue, this mb rocks for me, and is solid as can be, and an excellent board for overclocking.

Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 BETA Released (Nereus)

sylon

is it right that the money i spent on this board was used to buy the beta board for the classified.

EVGA got the E758 wrong. but they did it right with the classified.

Did I / we who own the E758 get screwed? Yes we did.

Right... and by that logic, the 790i was the beta for the 758, and the Classified was the beta for the P55, and the P55 beta for the dual socket board...

I'm happy with my 758 board - yes I am.

It seems clear that EVGA were out to get you personally.

Re:EVGA X58 SLI (E758) - BIOS 44 BETA Released (jasonanderson)

sylon

Squat500

Hey, sylon.
