Pci-e speeds are different due to nf200 chip. 760 does not have the nf200.

Re:EVGA X58 Classified (E759) - BIOS 44 Released (529th)

I have a 760 A1 and I have a strange problem that maybe related to the bios or the Crossfire bridge. What is going on?
Re:EVGA X58 Classified (E759) - BIOS 44 Released (dejanh)

rambler358
Problems are with DRAM multipliers, S3, VT, etc. Every time a resume from S3 is done CAS value of DRAM gets set to 11 regardless of BIOS setting. Problems setting 2:10 DRAM multiplier (possibly in combination with Turbo), etc. Double pump on every single soft reboot with VT enabled. Missing splash screen (this is because BIOS chip ran out of space IIRC, not really important). The list goes on.

It's accurate, it just takes a couple sensor sweeps to grab the right temp. Roughly half the time the NB temp will still show the CPU temp, give it a few seconds (depending on the time interval you set up for sensor sweeps) and it should give you the correct temp. If you watch it, you'll see it cycling between showing the CPU's temp and the NB temp.

Anyway, the scuttle on twitter says we should be getting a new BIOS today.

In terms of Everest, if you get the newest build from the support page you will see only the NB temps, no switching back and forth. You can get it here http://www.lavalys.com/support.php?lang=en and you will have to extract it over-top of the existing installation of Everest.

In terms of the BIOS, I hope it addresses the S3 deficiencies and other mess in BIOS 44. I had to go back to S22D from this release.
Re:EVGA X58 Classified (E759) - BIOS 44 Released (Davabled)

azamat
I am not 100% sure of this but it seems to be what happened to me, As soon as i got booted up and ran a single thread app it bumped me to 22X and then hard locked. I backed my oc down a bit and it is working fine.

rody

To stop this happening Turn of turbo performance, thats what turbo performance does, by turning it off all you are "losing" is that 22x multi from showing up, with Turbo performance off it will stick to the 21x.
Re:EVGA X58 Classified (E759) - BIOS 44 Released (chillernr1)

firerx

yeah,
I've turn that turbo performance off too. Did you check if it did before you screwed it on? I usually do that by applying a thin layer of TIM on all the chips supposed to be cooled by a WB, put the WB on top and apply pressure, then see if the chips leave residue on the WB contact area.
i got my Gulfy from september 2009.
bought a new vapo in decmeber and putted the chip direct under it : http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=861006
With this new bios 44 i tesed the "Turbo performance" option in bios on and off.

When i turn it off, everything is like it supossed to be, but with "Turbo performance" enabled, my memoey drops from 2020mhz (cpuz says 1011).
But i thought maybe more performance on cpu????

let's test it :

3dmark vantage cpu test without "Turbo performance" option :
It won't run 2:10 DRAM multiplier correctly. I have it set in the BIOS, tried everything imaginable to get it to take and no matter what the board keeps going back to 2:8 multiplier. Does anyone from EVGA even read these darned threads after they dump the BIOS on us or do we have to again hunt down individuals.
Re:EVGA X58 Classified (E759) - BIOS 44 Released (firerx)

3D Modeller

Hey guys...hope you can help.

My E759 has the factory bios and has always been unbelievably slow to post. In fact it's slower to post than it is to get the whole OS loaded.

Does this or any bios release fix post time? It's my only reason to upgrade the bios to be honest.

All the best

There's a number of thing in bios that you can disable to shorten the boot time. Namely, stuff that you don't use, so the bios can skip that confirmation check when booting up. See what items you have need for bios to see and disable the rest.

Re:EVGA X58 Classified (E759) - BIOS 44 Released (Marty66)

I can´t run my Ocz 1600 Mhz Tripple Kid with this Bios. I try to set the Speed manual, but my Ramspeed is always 1067Mhz. In Bios it shows 1600Mhz, but in Bootscreen and Windows only 1067Mhz. Eleet shows 533Mhz.
Back to 227a - everything is fine and Sticks run at 1600Mhz.
