+1 for Alan Wake, played it on a console about a year ago, yes I know I'm an awful person, but it wasn't on PC yet and I love the survival/horror genre. How is it on the PC for anyone who has played it, versus the console version if anyone has played both? Will probably end up picking it up, it was a great game. And on that note, if you have a rig capable of playing it, Metro 2033 was one of the best games I have played in a very long time, loved every minute of it, minus a few of the "stealth" parts.

Just want to boost that suggestion
10-FOLD!!!! Can't speak highly enough. This Day Z alpha has more content, more intrigue, more tension and more GAME in general than many many finished games.

I am exhausted right now from playing until 4:30am last night.

Its true, its very addicting. Last night i died at 1am. I figured what the heck i create a new guy and play for just little longer. Well 2:30 came around and i was being chased by lots of zombies so i just disconnected. @ Any one debating on getting Arma 2, get it! It was worth the $15 i spent to get it, i cant say that about many games! There is huge learning curve but remember when zombies are around CROUCH and WALK!!

Sound advice. If chased head for the hills. Zombies walk up hills much slower than you. You can lure them away so when you do fire on them, you're gunshots will be less likely to be heard. Keep wood and matches. Look for garbage cans to start fires.

alan wake is amazing but if you are short on cash, save your money for max payne 3 which comes out on the 29th because its going to be amazing

Hard to say without knowing what you have and haven't played already. Portal 2 was great, Metro 2033 was fun, All the assasins creed games have been fun...

Don't know if you're into MMO's but a buddy and I have been playing Tera since it's release.

It's not your typical MMO, it is a 'live-action' game. I'm a huge FPS guy and have only ever played one MMO before (Rift). The 'live-action' brings some of a FPS feel to the genre (even though it's truly a 3rd person shooter) and I am addicted. I play as a warrior which is the fastest class and most represents the speed in which I have become accustomed to in shooting titles

I've heard good things about Alan Wake but haven't played myself. Max Payne 3 comes out soon, but in all seriousness DayZ mod for ARMA II is just amazing. It has been eating up all my gaming time. I've also seen Witcher 2 for cheap if you missed that one. Great story and challenging game (haven't played through with Enhanced Edition though).

I think Alan Wake is good as well! I got the original the other day when it was on sale on Steam as a result of people here recommending it. Might pick up American Nightmare soon. Definitely has different mechanics to it, but that was a nice welcome for me in the world of modern FPS.
