i just finishe puting my first build together last week
asrock z68 extreme4
evga gtx 589 clasified 3gb
cougar-1000w cmx
i7 2700k
corsair 4gb x 4 ram
intell 60gb ssd

i have windows 7 installed. The first few times i played Skyrim and SatrCraf2 on ultra every thing ran supper smooth and every thing looked awesome. However, 3 days later starting with skyrim it started to freez up. The game doesn't crash it just pauses for 15 seconds and then the screen goes black for a few seconds before running smooth again. This repeats every 15- 20 minutes. The same thing was happening in starcraft.

could my gpu be glitching out already

Welp....from the a bit of reading I've been doing, your PSU seems to be of umm questionable quality. You might try running your GPU off off different rails on the PSU.

First welcome to the forums, Second this is in the wrong section and should be in the 500 series section. A mod will move it shortly.

As for your issue it sounds like TDR driver crash. What drivers are you running for the vid card? What are your card temps when it does this? Have you installed Precision and set a user defined fan profile?
