check the cable and power of course. both ends and whatever other drives are on the same power cable are all okay?
download WD Lifeguard and plan to lose any data it has that isn't backed up to another drive.
If you have a drive docking station, try it in that.
I prefer to WD Black or there is a new $300 1TB 10K VR ! <g>
But Lifeguard is excellent and will even complain (fail) if the SATA data cable is an issue and not communicating.

i have a 1tb wd blue hdd that for some reason dissapearred from "my computer"
i went into manage and it sees the hdd there but it says not initialized, i click initialize and it says not ready... cannot leave that loop.

any suggestions or questions please ask or make. i need the things off of that drive. thanks for your time
