Love the ring and necklace :) just be careful with White Gold. Since it's thinly coated usually, you'll have to have the ring re-coated a couple of times I'm sure.

Is it just me or didn't you just meet her? It's very hard to comment on personal matters like these on the internet because no one really knows anyone personally and we don't know peoples day to day lives. Just be careful with your feelings is I guess what I am trying to say. Marriage is a big step.

+1 This can't be stressed enough. Love makes most people blind to the things that after marriage become blaring issues. Put the brakes on things a little.

Well, congrats on the relationship. I just got married last year in June. We had been together for 2 years before I proposed. A local privately owned jewlery shop around my house makes custom rings. So I just asked her what she wanted and kinda made it around what she wanted, which happened to be pretty simple. We got married after 5 years.

When I went back to get the wedding band finished it had been a while, gold prices went sky high. Before I was wanting a white gold band, but after seeing that 900 dollar price tag, no thanks. Went with cobalt chrome for 70 dollars, looks great.

Just put off getting the gender legally changed until after your marriage. That way you can still get all the benefits.

Its because a big move and marriage are life changing events. And a lot of the time a life changing event can lead to a relationship and other things falling apart. I just have seen a lot of people and friends rush into marriage and have it fall apart not even a year later... They changed their life's for each other and found out they could not be happy living with that change.

I understand the concern, but her and I are still a long ways away from getting married as it is. we both have alot of real world stuff to deal with first.
Plus this is stuff were doing together to bond with one another, on a more personal and i guess romantical level. were trying to figure each other out and understand one another.
This is the farthest either of us have gon in a relationship, but fortunately shes a very responcible and careful individual, she just has a weakness about being alone and being without a singificant other in her life and according to her, im the best person she's ever met that fills her needs. She told me Im the only one other than her mother who is capable of making feel safe and loved.

Were not rushing into getting married, looking forward, planning, thats something we both do constantly, and were enjoying doing it together. we have at least a year 1/2, 2 years, and its possible if things dont go as planned for her with school it might even be as long as 3 years.

And me personally? shes the first relationship ive had where i havent been taken for granted and walked all over.
Everyone else ive been in a relationship has taken advantange of me or out right just left.

Actually we've known each other for over a year now.
We were together for a while then broke up because i was a 2nd guessing idiot when my life fell appart.
but she forgave me and we got back together, and picked up where we left off.

We had to fix a few things and then one day... she started talking about being married and kinda asked me if id marry her
So i said yes.
Not like an official proposal but good enough for now until our lives are in a better place and we can support each other.

Infact come to think of it she was the instigator in all of this.
She was the one who asked me out, she kissed me first, she was the one who wanted to get back together after i screwed up, shes the one who "popped the big question," shes the one who started the discussion today and chose the ring and necklace...so really... its mostly her and some of its me, im just being tugged along by the wrist and i dont mind at all. its nice to have someone who cares and is adding structure to my life.

Well if you want to wait to move to canada. Moving is a long process, a lot could happen between now and then.

we cant get married now as it is anyways, we dont have the financial or legal standings right now as it is.
like i said, we both have some time before we can do this, we were jsut having a romanitic day together.

I do not mean for this to come off rude or mean, but... Under like your drivers license issued from our govt are you listed as female?

By the time all of this stuff comes around to happening, ill be listed as legally female.
Also considering the fact that I cant even drive a car means i have no drivers licience nor do i have any credit or any major legal documentation.

I was pretty pissed off with the laws in the U.S. too, till I figured them out, now the U.S. is pretty badass to live.

Canada's police are at the very least, A LOT better than here, they're not quite as corrupt, as the corporation CANADA has not been around as long as UNITED STATES. Much more pleasant and much more willing to protect you, rather than "correct" you. Best of luck!

You're obviously not concerned with the traditions of marriage, so why not just get the bling and be happy? I threw tradition out in certain areas despite what others told me was "acceptable" and you know what, I was happy with my decisions. Weddings cost money, they only happen once, so why not make the most of it?
