almost everybody has usb 3.0 ports trouble on z68 boards ... the controller firmware (either VIA or NEC depending on model) are both faulty ... we all have been waiting a long time for a firmware update to usb 3.0 controller ...

Ok i finally got around to playing with it a little more the 2.0 Header is hooked up to the case that works just fine. I checked the bios usb3.0 is enabled and the drivers are installed. I tried hooking up the 3.0 header to the frount of the case as well as using the rear adapter that came with the mother board got the same resluts with both, one port sorta works the other doesn't work at all in both adapter (case and rear adapter)

to be exact the drive is an external "Seagate Slim 320gb." I'm pretty sure usb3.0 is enabled and all the ports except the cf card are enabled as well. i ran the test with the mobo outside the case I'll check the bios again

Is there anything in the BIOS that needs to be enabled?

Connectors for the internal header are the most wobbely in the case. Be sure that the connection is correct and try it befor closing the case back up. This way you can keep your eyes on the connection when you hook of the USB 3.0 drive.

You didn't say whay kind of connection you are making with the internal 2.0 header. Is it to the Front Panel or something else.

Sup everyone

I'm having issues with my internal usb 3.0 header. I have a seagate usb 3.0 slim drive that works fine on the rear usb 3.0 in the i/o panel. When i attache them to the header using the internal header the light on the drive, that is normally solid, flashes and the drive isn't recognized. I have updated to the latest bios and drivers and rebuilt the computer outside my case. My first guess is that the system is under powered, any suggestions?
