I forgot the link

All the major sellers, Red-cap, BCC, AccesoriesWhole and more are sending the appropriate Power brick and adapter for your country. So there is no need to purchase a 3rd party brick. Just make sure whoever you buy from that you clearly state if your intent is for the 60hz monitor, to have the GREEN PCB instead of the BLUE. The blue PCBS are known for the mosfet to burn out. The green PCBS have a better build quality and more mosfets to deal with heat. So inquire about that before you buy. If you get a Blue or TEAL you will eventually burn it out and then have to contact your seller about a replacement.
Re:Yamakasi Catleap 27" LED 2560x1440 WQHD S-IPS for around 350 bucks (vlenbo)

Thanks Junkboy, I found my problem. It IS my PCB, but the area where I connect the dvi-d link is where the problem starts. When I push the slot upward, it actually moves and doesn't stay in place. It is easily swayed by the cable that is connected to it or my hand itself. I placed an object to push the slot up and preventing it from moving back to its place. What I mean by that is that the dvi-d slot is loose. It wasn't that way I THINK, but an observation I made was that when I move it up, the signal is stronger and better. If I let go and leave it back to its place, the signal is horrible. This leads me to believe that originally it was up all the time, then by the removal of the cable, it must have gone down, and it became loose. Does this mean I have to buy a new monitor? I tried taking the monitor apart, but I was afraid of breaking it when I couldn't take the back off. I think it even made image quality worse when I let the slot loose. There are black spots on the screen instead of black screen flash like the video shown.
Re:Yamakasi Catleap 27" LED 2560x1440 WQHD S-IPS for around 350 bucks (matteedo)

Just solved my catleap stand issue. If you remove the base and place a washer on the screw between the base and stem on the side it sags to, it makes the monitor sit more level.
Re:Yamakasi Catleap 27" LED 2560x1440 WQHD S-IPS for around 350 bucks (bigbrag)

I have a brand new power brick if interested. I bought one for my catleap that died and it turned out the power brick was fine, my catleap was just dead. Luckily I had a square trade warranty and they covered the cost of the catleap. I still have the new power brick though, and it was much nicer than the original that came with the catleap.
Re:Yamakasi Catleap 27" LED 2560x1440 WQHD S-IPS for around 350 bucks (_Nite_)

killuchen

I remember there was a dealer on ebay that sells them. I'm hoping it's just the power brick.
Re:Yamakasi Catleap 27" LED 2560x1440 WQHD S-IPS for around 350 bucks (Cloudz00x)

killuchen

Hey guys, I purchased my catleap back in July. Today my monitor started acting up. When it's off the red LED blinks and my monitor will make a blinking/clicking noise. My power brick also blinks green. The only way I'm able to turn my monitor on is if I unplug and replug it back into the power outlet. Is my brick going bad or is it my monitor?

Don't get me wrong great monitors specifically for the 1440p and 120hz capabilities, but this is exactly why I don't buy one of these catlips and other 3rd party monitors. I understand low cost and specs compared to mainstream monitors but the problems that can arise from these range in the high numbers. PCB boards burning out, over-volting from brick, removing the cable from the dvi port to many times. Just to many to count. Hope you fix your problem though.
Re:Yamakasi Catleap 27" LED 2560x1440 WQHD S-IPS for around 350 bucks (killuchen)

I remember there was a dealer on ebay that sells them. He finally did the specs right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY4U1gqMtmYv I had a similar problem like this, but all I did was move the monitor and it fixed itself. Though it does come back sometimes. Anyone know the reason for this? Damaged pcb perhaps? Or the monitor is dying maybe?

No idea, first time I've seen that. The most common problems people have tend to be the power bricks and the buzzing sound on white pages which both can be fixed.

He says he removes the DVI cable a lot and with his prior knowledge of the issue it's like the person who keeps picking at the scab and wonders why he gets an infection and the wound doesn't heal (not that it would've healed in this case). He should've sent it back the second he saw a potential issue especially if he was planning to move it around and unplug it as frequently as he claims.

Most of us owners don't even unplug them that much so we wouldn't know if this is just overuse but I would say as of now seems like a rare occurrence for the most part, get back to me in a couple of years and I'll let you know how mine's doing. :D

I would say just to make sure the cable is in tight and not to move it around too much, other than that (assuming that you can't return it) Scribby should eventually start selling OC PCB's for the monitors so if anything acts up don't toss it and hope that a PCB swap fixes it and allows you to OC that sucker at the same time.
Re:Yamakasi Catleap 27" LED 2560x1440 WQHD S-IPS for around 350 bucks (vlenbo)

The guy who uploaded the video with a problem on his monitor did a new one. Link if any?

Been researching monitors and came across these. Was gonna bite the bullet on the Samsung S27B970D 2560x1440 60hz monitors.
