No need to create a disk. You can d/l it to you desk top and run it or run directly off the web with the ASUS Utility. There is more software on you DVD as well.

Read these sections in your manual(about 5 pages):
- AFUDOS utility
- Award BIOS Flash Utility
- ASUS Update Utility
- ASUS BIOS Updater

It's really a simple operation to understand and use.
Re:Dumb queston but (davevt31)

If its an Asus board, you may get better info from their forums.
Re:Dumb queston but (esCob4r)

bmxjumperc

With EVGA Z68 motherboards we can update the BIOS from a util in Windows then it reboots and installs the BIOS, there is always directions somewhere specific to the BIOS where you download it isn't there?

The download didn't come with a readme file or anything how ever it doesn't really matter much for elitegeek already has it updated to the latest bios. Thankfully. I was a little worried to even try it seeing all the possibilities of it not finishing and making the board not post anymore.
Re:Dumb queston but (bmxjumperc)

With EVGA Z68 motherboards we can update the BIOS from a util in Windows then it reboots and installs the BIOS, there is always directions somewhere specific to the BIOS where you download it isn't there?
Dumb queston but (esCob4r)

How do I update my bios with a .ROM file? Do I burn it to a cd and boot from dvd drive? Do I copy it to a diskette, well I can't do that don't have one. Or is there a way I can update my bios with in windows?

I am using an Asus P8Z68-V Gen3 motherboard. I am trying to update my bios to the latest bios provided by asus.
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z68VGEN3/#download

Do I need to download the bios utility thing? Sorry. I would search google but probably get confused and mess it up. I have better luck with answers from you guys.
