I glad you are happy with the stand. I actually put the inner bezels of the outside monitors behind the bezels of the center monitor and so far i think i like it. so it is an option for increased angle if you find you would want it.

enjoy the stand, i love mine.
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (shazam)

eduncan911

I guess you can fly a flag on the upper pole, until you get a 4th monitor. LOL

LMFAO...

You know I'm still actively pursuing a way to mount that giant HDTV above the 3, just haven't found one yet :P
I've compared the total weight of 3 24's to the weight of the HDTV, and the HDTV is surprisingly lighter.

HDTV Weight: 43 Pounds
3x 24" ASUS VH242 Monitors = 45 pounds.

So technically, it should work, but will it work in practice, I really don't know. Because when you have 3 monitors, the weight is expanded over the arch, while when having one heavy monitor, it's all in the center. I'm just not sure if the shift in weight will cause any balance issues or tip the whole stand over on its face.. I'm going to have to try and see.
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (eduncan911)

I guess you can fly a flag on the upper pole, until you get a 4th monitor. LOL

Looks good.
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (shazam)

It's been a while, I know I promised a picture, so here it is.

Sadly, I'm down to one 570 so I'm only able to power up the middle screen and the big HDTV. I have not bothered installing the top rack yet, as I need to get the 680 first before I can hook all of these bad boys up.

As far as the stand, its freaking phenomenal, the build quality is unreal. I still can't believe I got all that for just $150. It's a steal. I'm absolutely in love. Having no stands on these outer monitors has allowed me to line up my BOSE 100 speakers underneath each side rather than taking up space beside them like I had previously.

All-in-all, I'm VERY happy, I cannot complain. As far as the angles on the outer screens, I honestly have no problem with the arch, sure it can be tighter (more inwards) but I'll need to have all 3 monitors active to test and see what I like best.

Now the wait for the 4GB is starting to kill me. Because I have eveyrthing setup, just need to stupid card.. haha

Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (Johnny_Utah)

thorimmortal

there is a thread dedicated to that particular mount, I bought one. It is pretty beefy for the $$$ invested, the only issue I have is the lack of adjustment for the angle of the outer monitors, the curve is too flat for my taste, eventually I will either run the arms through the bender and put a little more curve to them or cut and weld a hinge pin somewhere in the middle of the arm. For now its not too bad running the bezels behind the center monitor, No other issues thus far

If you think of a way to remedy this, I am all ears:) Maybe there is some way to modify that piece that holds them to the bar as you said.
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (Johnny_Utah)

I have the six monitor one...got it a couple months back. For the price, it really can't be beat. However the one thing that annoys me is the "bow in" angle just isn't far enough for a good wrap around effect. Other than that, this is one heck of a product.
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (naokiura)

WOW, that is interesting for a manufacturers website to put in something like a Trojan on their site.

I have scanned my computer and have not come across anything on it.

But I've crossed it out on my post pointing down to yours.
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (spawn447)

naokiura

lol,

I had to look at the website since I have the same monitor stand, and was thinking about the same thing. The reason it's so fast is because its FedEx. If they shipped with UPS, I probably wouldn't have seen this thing for another week or so.
Definitely satisfied with the way these guys handle their orders. Like Jimmy Jons, freaky fast delivery haha.
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (proctous)

WoW that was fast shiping, That would have taken forever to reach Hawaii for me. But I'm sure there are ways to incorporate another screw-clamp mount into the current stand so that it holds that 24" above the other 3.
Porbably a little tricky, but very doable if you got the time, mind, and patience for it. :)
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (eduncan911)

Exactly, I was talking about Shazaam's original post ad well, with 4x 24".

Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (naokiura)

shazam

Haha, yeah my current setup is a 4th HDTV, an LG with TruMotion 120Hz (Interpolation... obviously, not true 120hz). But it does the job for movies and anything that doesn't require high response rate. However, for gaming, I have to turn it off, or else it is unplayable due to input lag from interpolation. I am still lucky though, because it came with an IPS panel. The picture on it is beyond gorgeous. It baffles me. According to many hours of searching around the internet, a few batches of that specific model (LK520) were shipped with high class IPS panels that were excess in factory and had to be liquidated. (many sources have confirmed that). I landed on one by pure luck.

The stand I'm talking about is a separate desk mount. It only gives you about 5" height from what I remember, which sucks. So you have to have some sort of a rack or 2nd level setup in your desk in order to use such a thing. Which I have.

Btw, I found them, there's 2:

First one, not sure I dig it.. they claim it works with 42", from the technical data sheet, I guess it does, leaving you barely any room from the surface of the desk.

http://www.peerlessmounts...t/categoryID/409/sc/hh

Second one, looks taller to me, but it could just be an illusion:

http://www.peerlessmounts...t/categoryID/409/sc/hh

I don't know man, I just want to move already so I can get this entire thing setup. I just hope this stand will be worth it.

Honestly, as far as your setup goes, you can definitely incorporate something like these mounts into your desk. You won't be able to add a 42" TV to your 3-way mount.. that's just phyiscally impossible haha. The added 40-60 LB weight (depending on what kind of 42", plasma is HEAVY [80+ LB], while oled is light [30-40 LB]) will either break your mount, or break your glass. Guaranteed.

If you have a wooden desk, bolting a 2nd rack wouldn't bee that hard. All you need is about 5" in width to give the mount arm something to latch on to, the rest is just structural foundation. With your current glass desk, I don't see it happening. You'd need a lot of welding work to get that sorta thing going.

Waiting on the 4GB myself man... don't know when that sucker is gonna land on us.. it's taking too long!

naokiura

lol,

I had to look at the website since I have the same monitor stand, and was thinking about the same thing. No stand will. The stand will have to take an enormous amount of weight and balance upon itself while carrying all these displays. Think about it :P

That does not mean that he can't put 4 24" in there. I'm just speaking from a large display (HDTV) perspective.

Sorry Shazam, should have specified by name, I meant your original post with 4 - 24" monitors.

Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (shazam)

Haha, yeah my current setup is a 4th HDTV, an LG with TruMotion 120Hz (Interpolation... obviously, not true 120hz). Adding another monitor in the future for looking at all the bench stuff, Team speak, etc.

But here you go:

Website taken off do to possible unsafe website; pointed out by spawn447 - post #27

sorry.

Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (eduncan911)

Wow, you are right. On NVIDIA's site somewhere, they mentioned the ErgoTech stand and it's 4th monitor option. That's what got me excited, "What, you mean I can mount a 4th on mine? No way? Where is that thing?"

$150 for the add-on for the 4th monitor, is what you are saying it is for the ErgoTech? Yeah, that's a bit high. I also see an A/C and USB extension that can mount to mine (I may pick that up).

And 42"? My gawd man, how big of a "4th" monitor do you got? I thought you said 4x 24" screens? LOL Mount that thing to the wall if it's larger than 42"!

Mine has an optional "Desk Clamp" mount, instead of the base that I am using, as another option. I didn't think $220 was expensive - considering the 3D Vision monitors ran close to $1,300, and the 3-way GTX 580 HC2s were $2,100 alone as well (all sold, waiting on the GTX 680 FTW 4 GBs...).
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (shazam)

Nice dog, I looked at that setup and I thought it was too expensive. This is why when cblaxx posted his link, my jaw dropped.

Cute dog :)

Btw, I analyzed your youtube video. There's no desk mount, the monitors are just sitting on their stock bases and the TV is sitting on a rack above them, which is the exact same setup I have in my room.

There's only one stand that supports LCD HDTV's and it only goes up to 42" (I'll find it when i get on my desktop, I have it bookmarked). It's about $150. Very expensive, for holding ONE screen. So yeah, I'm thinking about getting that and mounting it to the back of my desk, which has a similar rack to the one in the nvidia video.

EDIT: Just checked on my order, already shipped on Fedex. Only a few days til I get this puppy. Extremely excited. Only issue is, I'm moving to a new place, so I won't be able to set it up til that happens. Which will take a week or two. But I will post pics as soon as it happens.
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (eduncan911)

You know, I am going to start hanging out in this forum more often.

I have extremely impressed, and very satisfied with my Ergotech triple monitor stand (and company link). Especially for the price, considering the high cost of all others out there. Don't confuse it with the Ergotron triple monitor stands, I have no idea of them - I have the Ergotech I linked to above.

(<- pic from my ModsRigs)

The pic does NOT do it justice at all. I spent months, literly months and months closely evaluating dozens of triple monitor stands, watching videos, etc. None, and I mean, none of them had everything i wanted. The biggest issue? None that said they supported 24" monitors.

And then I ran across a single comment hidden way down in the reviews for this stand on some site in the middle of nowhere mentioned a guy with 24" monitors. He said that other tri-stands would not fit his 24" screens, and made them flat out. But this Ergotech stand, allowed them to 'curve' inwards. That convinced me!

Not only can I fit 24" monitors, but I still have a solid inch or so to move them out even more!

A surprise bonus was the perfectly flat, and very heavy base. It's a perfect place to put your USB sticks, cell phone, etc. And, it was the ONLY one I found that had this flat base. All others would take up too much room.

Ah... Lookie here, I found my old WP7 videos I took with my phone. I stress that, with my phone. So, I apologize for the low quality.

http://eduncan911.com/downloads/ergotron/WP_20110805_161501Z.mp4

http://eduncan911.com/downloads/ergotron/WP_20110805_161501Z.mp4

^- you may need to right-click and "Save As" first. I may add music and upload to YouTube some day to embarrass myself.

Now if that wasn't enough to sell ya, the recent NVIDIA GTX 680 release video had a special B-roll around
2:38m mark:

Notice that 4th monitor on the top? Hehe, the Ergotech has a "4th" monitor extension available that mounts on top of the remaining pole, for that top 4th monitor right int he center, above the other 3. Though, I couldn't quickly find it for you.

If you find it, let me know by sending me a PM.

Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (ElecTriX)

Would love to order one of these (6 screen-stand) but taxes and import duties to Europe is the biggest problem..

Anybody know of something similiar in England / Germany maybe?
Re:Triple-Monitor Desk Stand - Need Suggestions (shazam)

Ha! genius, that's how I have them right now. I tuck the outer monitor's bezels behind the center monitor. Shazam! all good to go.

I feel like I'm going to be VERY satisfied with this purchase. That sounds like a pretty solid idea. Im not sure if it will be too strange for me or something.

I agree. I wonder if it will mess with the depth or not. I also wonder if it will help shrink the Bezel as well. Not sure why this never crossed my mind honestly.
