The AMD Phenom II quad-core and hex-core CPU's suck a lot of juice especially when you overclock them which you will definitely want to do with running SLI to give your cards the best performance boost. Secondly, if you overclock the cards they can pull quite a draw too.

I ran my setup (i5-2500k @ 4.2Ghz) with SLI cards at stock clocks (732Mhz core) and it was pushing my Corsair TX750 very hard to the point where I was concerned about its longevity. I upgraded to a Corsair AX850 and it gives me extra headroom to overclock everything without my 12v rail dropping under load. I'm simply saying that I wouldnt try to overclock everything until you get a better power supply, the 750W you have now is enough to run everything at stock.
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (ddy4vi)

Hi, found this thread and was wondering if with my setup below adding a 2nd GTX570HD SC would be okay with my corsair 750tx power supply?? thx
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (peeler05)

 sli bridge is magical
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (passey)

cool so its fairly simple then.

Thanks for the help guys
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (peeler05)

You have to activate SLI in the nvidia control panal. Also make sure max performance is on and not adaptive. Everytime you install a new nvidia driver, the SLI will be turned off and you will have to turn it on again the the control panal along with prefer maximum performance.
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (passey)

i put the components into the power usage earlier said about 690 i think.

AMD Phenom II 1075T
ASRocks 990 Extreme 3 Mobo
4 * 4GB Gskills 1600mhz ram
Crucial M4 64GB SSD
Seagate 1TB HDD
samsung DVD RW
LG Blu-ray writer
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (NemesisChild)

Depending upon the model, your OCZ 750W may be borderline with twin 570's.

Please list your system components so we can gauge your power usage.
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (passey)

OCZ not sure on the model
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (NemesisChild)

passey

750W psu

Make & model?

Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (passey)

 750W psu

Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (NemesisChild)

What PSU are you using to power your 570's?
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (manojks)

Just remember to plug in the power for the 2nd card.

If your motherboard has an additional power plug near the pci-e slots this is the time to use it.
Re:Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (sheckie81)

 Hey Passey,

Welcome to the forums :)

Just put the card in, slap on the SLI bridge that should have came with your motherboard (there is a spot at the back end of the cards for the bridge, just in case you didn't know) then boot up. You will then have to go into the Nvidia Control Panel and click on Configure SLI, Physx and Surround. Once at that screen go to the SLI portion of the screen and click on the radio button for "Maximize Performance". Then go to the bottom of the control panel and click apply and your good to go :)

Enjoy
Just bought 2nd GTX 570 HD SC for SLI (passey)

I have just brought a 2nd GTX 570 HD SC to SLI with my other 1.

Is there anything special I need to do to install this card and get it working on SLI?

I have never setup sli before.
