Using stock cooler, computer works like a charm!
Re:Newly Built Computer keeps shutting down after startup (zoltanthegypsy)

Is the cooler making good contact with the CPU?

Could be any of several things, but sounds like the CPU is doing a quick thermal shutdown.

Z.
Re:Newly Built Computer keeps shutting down after startup (evanscott815)

Yeah, actually according to the bit-tech review of the 550ti, the power supply i have is fine.
Re:Newly Built Computer keeps shutting down after startup (evanscott815)

it happened the first time i booted it up, this is a custom machine. This system does have a boot, shut down boot, process when power is removed completely, on first boot, any time, System features are changed and BIOS has to be re written, or if virtual machine is enabled as it boots once for each instance.
Re:Newly Built Computer keeps shutting down after startup (evanscott815)

The LED readout displays what i think are percentages while starting up, but says nothing out of the ordinary.
Yes, the CPU power supply is plugged in.
The computer is plugged in through a strip, sharing power with my display.
The GPU is powered directly. For some reason the power light remained lit on my CoolerMaster Storm Enforcer case. I have repeatedly tried restarting. Some times it doesn't even reach BIOS, sometimes it will stay on for a while, but it always shuts down with the same results. Please Help!
