Just as a matter of interest, what is the "Memory Low Gap"? I've not encountered it before, coming from a background of overclocking lots of Sandy Bridge PC's I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to the 1366 platform...

Come to think of it you may not need to bother with it.. It reserves memory space for your gpu's and probably only comes more into play when you have 3 or 4 gpu's and your option rom is taken up.

At any rate your not even there yet.. get both cards up and running in sli first.

Many thanks - so the config is this (keeping in mind it's running on an EVGA SR-2 mobo):-

Card 1 - Green LED - PCI-E slot 1 - OK. (Primary)
Card 2 - Red LED - PCI-E slot 6 - seemingly not OK.

Connected with a single SLI cable, however in-game I'm only seeing one of the cards in use in Precision, meaning I'm getting crappy frame rates. Apologies about my n00b questions, but unfortunately I haven't had much of a chance to really dig into the SR-2 config (or the Classified Ultras) after spec'ing the machine out, but for SLI to function correctly do they need to be at specific spots on the mobo for SLI to function correctly?

Turn the system off, and find the OC Mode Switch and make sure they are both the same. It is possible, but somehow unlikely, that is the issue. Also, like others have said, move the bottom GPU to Slot 3.

Many thanks for the pointers. Yes, in BF3 Precision is saying one of the cards isn't being used - basically GPU usage is running at ~20% and not generating heat - getting this via the OSD when the other cards cranking it at 99%.

put the second card in slot 3.. and in NCP it shows 2 way SLI at the bottom? and a tick in maximize 3d performance ?

The red LED simply means oc mode is on. You can turn it off with the switch in the center edge of the PCB

Only do that when the PC is off. Switch is on the top of the PCB on the front just to the left of the PCIe power cables.

I read somewhere that you need to place the cards like this

Slot1: Card
Slot2:Empty 8x
Slot3:Card
Slot4: Empty 8x
If either slots 2 or 4 are occupied you lose performance on 1 and 3. I don't own a SR-2 so that is where my input ends. Good luck!

Windows can see both of the cards, but I'm wondering about placement of them for SLI on the SR2 motherboard. Does one have to be at the very far end? If so the SLI bridge doesn't reach it...

Hi there all...

Total noob, but have rigged up a machine for a guy at work here who wanted the most super fast box on the planet etc. Have got 2 of the above cards in the machine and Windows can see them OK, however whenever I'm running them in a game (BF3 - stress testing of course) ;) - I'm getting horrendous frame rates and Precision is saying it's not being used. What should I be looking for to verify if it's working? Nvidia control panel can see both cards, I think SLI is working correctly (although there's a red LED on on the second card?)...

Any help would be appreciated.
